Removing moisture from compressed air in the harshest conditions, Atlas Copco’s FD refrigerant dryers eliminate system failures, production downtime and costly repair and service works.

Constant dry airThanks to their pioneering technology, FD dryers ensure the lowest pressure drop and lowest energy consumption for the highest possible efficiency – saving you time and money throughout the production process.

UNIQUE & EFFECTIVE HEAT EXCHANGER TECHNOLOGY

• Low pressure drop thanks to built-in low velocity water separator and optimised air flow.

• Counter flow on both air-to-refrigerant and air-to-air side for maximum heat transfer efficiency.

• Built-in efficient air-to-air heat exchanger reducing power consumption of the dryer and eliminating condensation on outlet piping.

PROVEN PEACE OF MIND

Building on Atlas Copco’s know-how and years of experience with regards to compressed air solutions, the FD refrigerant dryer range is tested using the most stringent methods in the industry. You can rest assured at all times. In order to obtain ISO 9001 and 14001 certification, Atlas Copco thoroughly tests its dryers during design reviews. As a result of to the synergy with the compressor production facility, Atlas Copco is able to test the entire dryer range to all flows.

To further reduce any type of contamination within your process and protect your equipment, Atlas Copco presents a complete range of compressed air filters when needed. A total quality air solution for every application.

BUILT FOR ENDURANCE

• Designed using state-of-the-art tools and facilities.

• Based on years of extensive research and continuous development.

• Manufactured using the most advanced production line and methods in the industry.

The FD assures dry air, even at high ambient temperatures.

EFFICIENT WATER SEPARATION

• Low velocity condensate separator with ultimate separation efficiency even in low flow conditions (according to model).

• Reliable and effective condensate evacuation from the separation chamber via the no-loss condensate drain.

• Intelligent alarm in case of drain malfunction.

Keeping a firm grip on costs is one of your main concerns. Atlas Copco’s refrigerant dryers stand for important energy savings all day, every day, year in, year out.

Taking technology to a whole new level, the FD dryers achieve maximum cost savings, allowing you to conduct a truly efficient energy reduction strategy.

Supreme energy and cost savings

CYCLE CONTROL!

Low pressure dropSaver Cycle Control & VSD (option)

Energy-efficient heat exchanger No-loss condensate drain

• Low pressure drop reducing energy consumption of the air compressor.

• Use of energy-efficient refrigerant.

• Patented Flow Switch to avoid costs during prolonged periods of no flow (FD 120-285).

• New heat exchanger technology for supreme energy savings.

• No waste of compressed air thanks to no-loss condensate drain.

• Unique Saver Cycle Control based on dryer load and relative humidity of compressed air (FD 120-285).

• VSD (Variable Speed Drive) to precisely match the energy input with the actual need and obtain extra energy savings (option for FD 750-4000).

The FD’s low pressure drop (Δp) reduces the load on the compressor and allows you to save considerable amounts of energy.

Traditional dryer Atlas Copco FD

LOW PRESSURE DROP

• Energy-saving heat exchanger technology (according to model).

• Integrated low velocity water separator.

• Large diameter connection pipes for optional integrated filters.

• A lower pressure drop leads to increased energy savings!

SAVER CYCLE CONTROL

• Adjustment of working cycle to actual load results in significant energy savings.

• Reduced power consumption in case of partial load.

• Relative humidity of compressed air on dryer outlet is kept below 50% even when cycling.

Atlas Copco’s FD dryers are able to adapt their working cycle to the real load they are under, saving significant amounts of energy.

MAXIMUM SAVINGS WITH VARIABLE SPEED DRIVE

The VSD (Variable Speed Drive) controlled FD refrigerant dryers exactly match the energy input to the need defined by the water load to the dryer. When the water load decreases, so will the speed of the compressor… and the energy consumption of the FD dryer. No energy will be wasted, which results typically in savings of more than 50% when compared to conventional dryers.
