ATI TEAS FAQs How Can I Best Prepare for Taking the TEAS?
The TEAS consists of four sections, Mathematics, Reading, Science, and English and Language Usage. We
recommend that you review the basic concepts and theories in each area.
ATI also offers products to help you study. They include the ATI TEAS Study Package, ATI TEAS SmartPrep
Study Package, ATI TEAS Study Manual – Sixth Edition, and the ATI TEAS Online Practice Assessment Packages.

Where can I take the TEAS?
Students may take the TEAS at COS, or any location offering ATI TEAS.
For directions to take the TEAS at COS, use this link: www.cos.edu/nursing
Be aware that if you take the TEAS through another school or location, ATI will charge you an additional fee to
forward your results to COS Nursing. You should have your results sent to [email protected]
What is the format of the TEAS?
TEAS is computer-based, multiple choice. It has four sections: Mathematics, Reading, Science, and English and
Language Usage.
Reading – Key Ideas and Details, Craft & Structure, and Integration of Knowledge & Ideas (53 items, 64
minutes)
Math – Number & Algebra, and Measurement & Data (36 items, 54 minutes)
Science – Human Anatomy & Physiology, Life and Physical Sciences, and Scientific Reasoning (53 items,
63 minutes)
English and Language Usage – Conventions of Standard English, Knowledge of Language, and
Vocabulary Acquisition (28 items, 28 minutes)
Can I use a calculator on the ATI TEAS?
Students are not allowed to bring a calculator. The ATI TEAS will have an embedded calculator within the
online test that students can use.
How long will it take for me to get my TEAS scores?
Your scores are available immediately after the examination.
How do I know if I passed the ATI TEAS?
College of the Sequoias requires a minimum ATI TEAS score of 62%. You must achieve this score in your first
two attempts at the ATI TEAS. If you cannot achieve a score of at least 62% in your first two attempts, you will
not be considered for the COS Nursing Program.
How do I get my official TEAS transcript sent to another college?
For a fee, ATI will electronically transmit your results to the school of your choice. After you have your results,
log onto the ATI website and request a TEAS transcript.
