ATEX 137 does not change

‘ATEX 137’ becomes ‘ATEX 153’ (99/92/EC):

• Minimum requirements for improving thesafety and health protection of workerspotentially at risk from explosive atmospheres

• Manage / control explosion risks• Hazardous area classification• Explosion Protection Document (EPD)

ATEX 153: Explosion Risk

Explosion Risk (Rexpl):Rexpl = Pexpl x Eexpl

Rexpl = PATEX x Pignition x EexplPexpl = probability of explosion

PATEX = prob. of explosive atmospherePignition = prob. of ignition source

Eexpl = effect/consequences of explosion
