the crewing-up of this brand new AD

plant; the largest of its type in the

UK and a flagship AD plant for the

Food Waste industry. We successfully

despite a shortage of skilled people

Case Study:

New Build 840MW

CCGT Power Station

Astute partnered with a large player

in the Energy sector, on a new build

CCGT Power Station. Involved from

an early stage, we developed a

recruitment strategy aimed at the

complete “crewing-up” of

technical/engineering staff for the

site. This strategy involved educating

the Plant Manager and executive

management team about the

timescales involved in a large

recruitment drive, the publications

(both local and national) we would

need to utilise to promote the

recruitment campaign as well as

possible difficulties which we may

encounter. The project gained sign

off and we successfully sourced

suitably skilled candidates, including

top level management through to

Shift/Maintenance Team Leaders,

and subsequently Technicians within

both Maintenance and Operations

departments. We demonstrated an

ability to provide an advisory service

and a recruitment drive to rapidly

resource a complete technical

engineering workforce.

Operations and Maintenance

Astute are the leading provider of operations and maintenance staff to the UK

Power sector. Led by a former Power Generation Engineer, our consultants are

Energy from Waste (EfW) & Biomass

the successful campaign to secure the executive level management and O&M

teams for the prestigious Belvedere project, the UK’s largest and newest Energy

from Waste Plant.

Nuclear

Our Nuclear knowledge comes from practical experience of working in the

industry, specifically Nuclear Reactors used to power the Royal Navy’s

submarines. This experience combined with years of recruiting for the industry

contract to ‘crew-up’ the UK’s largest

Energy from Waste plant located in

South East London. We were

entrusted to deliver suitable

candidates for over 50 roles from

Plant Manager down to Operator

level. Working closely with our client

as well as assisting with the creation
