Why ACCA in India

• Most of the ACCA qualified professionals in India are employed with the Big 4s or MNCs. Employersin India have now become aware of ACCA qualification and are hiring them eagerly. Main employersin India for ACCA are Price Waterhouse Coopers, Earnest and young, Deloitte, KPMG, TATACommunications, Embassy Group, Grant Thornton, etc. CA and ACCA members are offered similarjob profiles, designation and salary packages.

• India is taking another step closer towards globalization by introducing Ind-AS drafted on principlessimilar to IFRS. ACCA covers IFRS broadly in its syllabus which would definitely give an edge to ACCAmembers in India.

• With the presence of many financial KPOs in India, India has become a major outsourcing hub foraccounting and financial functions and ACCA qualified professionals are preferred by the employersfor handling these functions.

• In India, average salary offered to ACCA fresher is between INR3,50,000 to INR 4,00,000.


Course information

To qualify as an ACCA member, a candidate will be required to complete:

Exams - Attempt and clear 14 exams (ACCA also provides exemptions in some exams depending upon the candidate’s previous qualification)

Experience - Record 36 months' experience in a relevant role (candidate can acquire the experience before /during/ after completion of the qualification)

Ethics – Complete the Professional Ethics module.

Examinations are held 4 times in a year i.e. March, June, September & December. However, the papers fromF1 to F4 can be taken online around the year at ACCA's Authorized Computer Based Exam centres.

Frequently asked questions

• Can I take the ACCA qualification exams in any order?– You can attempt up to a maximum of four papers per examination cycle. There are two examination cycles

per year: 1st February to 31st July and 1st August to 30th January. Papers/examinations must be taken in linewith the following module (Knowledge/Skills/Professional) order. You can attempt the papers within eachmodule in any order. However, as the syllabus has been developed to progress educationally in the orderpresented, ACCA recommends that papers within a module are to be attempted in that order only.

• Howmany exams can I take at each exam session under foundations in accountancy?– There is no restriction to the number of exams you may attempt, you will be allowed to appear for as many

or as few papers as you like at each exam session. You are, however, recommended to attempt a maximumof four papers in each six-month period.

• How do I find out where to go on exam day?– You can log on to your myacca account approximately two weeks after standard exam entry closes to

download and print your exam attendance docket. This will include the address of the centre where youhave been allocated, the papers you have been entered for, the dates for each paper and the desk numbersyou should be directed to at the venue. Please remember that you must take your exam attendance docketwith you to the examination centre. Please also take official photographic identification such as a passport,driving licence or national identity card.
