Read the text out loud very robotically and without any voice inflexions. The teacher tells Ss. They have to read the play loud as if they were actually robots. Every Ss. Has to read one line by turn and try not to hurry themselves. T-Ss Ss-Ss 6 min 2. Rewrite the play in a modern Standard English. T tells Ss that now they have to work in pairs (with their desk mate) and rewrite the play using only Standard English words and writing style. They have 12 minutes to do that and they have to keep the same number of lines or sentences. In the end, some of the willing Ss will share their versions by reading it for the rest of the class. After their reading, the teacher might give them other options which seem to be more appropriate. T-Ss Ss-Ss Ss-T 16-18 min 3. Try to imagine what possible Shakespearean replacements could be made for the following structures: Want 2 chat? Stalker! Feeling jiggy Is tht a Ss have to think of Early Modern English versions of the words and phrases selected from the play. Each change has to be at least 3 times longer than the structures from the text. Ss have 7-8 minutes to write those changes down and after that the teacher names different students to read their own versions. The T also gives Ss some handouts concerning Early Modern English words and expressions used mainly by Shakespeare in his works. Ss-T T-Ss 15 min

4. Imagine a formal and critical situation and write a 10 lines dialogue using words from the previous activity or other from the text. Try to keep the formal style of the dialogue without making it hilarious. Ss have to imagine that they are in a critical official situation and write a short dialogue in which they have to make use of the e-R&J language without making it funny in any way.Then, some (5-6) pupils will read their work to the others.Ss-SsT-Ss8-10 min
