In the same manner conceiving and managing oil impacted site require an appreciable level of field experience connubial with expertise. This course will expose you to sharp practices easy to understand and practicable in the Nigerian environment. Course Structure This will be 3.5 to 4.0 hours in the morning and 3.5 to 4.0 hours in the afternoon (1 day). Morning Session: The participants will learn How to evaluate spills in soil, groundwater and surface water. Learn about air, soil and water sampling techniques and How to quantify a spill in terms of total oil spilled and total soil and or water impacted. Case Study examples will be used to aid the teaching experience. The morning session will conclude with the class participating in a hypothetical spill assessment exercise. Afternoon Session: You will learn about The various methods for air, soil and water remediation, and learn How to take the information from the morning session to determine what technologies could work for different spills, and How to develop a clean-up strategy for a spill that has impacted the soil and water. Case Study examples will be used to aid the teaching experience. The afternoon session will conclude with the class participating in a hypothetical spill remediation cleanup exercise.
