Our major project duringmy 2nd year in architecture was to design a multi use residential building in avery prime location in Trivandrum.The plot had 20 centof area to offer with access onall but one site.

Effort was put into learningabout general spatial organization and usage patterns.Comparative case studies were done,research was mainly done concerning the location ofthe plot,this includedconversing with people,learning about the built environment and economy.

The design concepts showcased are primarily forthis years submission,The object of design is abudget hotel with 50 rooms,The design started ofbased on the basic principles of 8 bit programming,the design slowly led on the concept of the Jenga inspired tower shown.This happened as a result of reworking on the 8 bit grid in a 3d environment,Theidea of spatial displacement seen in the concept ofJenga paved way towards displacement of floors.Displacement of space was experimented alongdiffernt axes before acheiving the model shown.

This 50 room hotel includes a restraunt, banquet hall for 200 users and a conference rooms.Situated opposite Infosys Campus,Trivandrum Occupies 1000 sqm and comprises of 11 stories.

NThe wallstation is my first timeentry for Product Design forNASA’12 at Ahmedabad.

The concept behind thewallstation was to intergratethe primary functions of a workspace into the most minimalof spaces.Emphasis was givenon the fact that space is becoming an expensive elementfor any startup designer with each passing day.The wallstation iis a semi portable workspacethat intergrates into a wall,featuring a bunk bed,draft tablestorage and lighting.The ideato create a work at home spacewithout addition compromiseof space,The aim behind the product was to be able tointergrate it into an existing space

This 4D installation done at the C.A.Tcorridor consists of panels for floor,wall and ceiling.The design evolved froma basic arrangement of triangles namedthe spidron,They invoke a sense of motionand infinity,The colours used where shades of grey.The wall panel was dedicatedtowards giving the illusion of having a continuation of the spidron on the floorbut in real was composed from a quadrilateral.The installation was done usingforex panels and spray cans.

THE PERMEABLE ENCLOSUREthe tree cover creates a transparent enclosure space which opens the space equally to road and the sky, defining the boundary of the space from the exterior activity zone. THE WALL imitates “or tries to imitate” the same, Enclosing the arc of activity while opening it tothe users through the louvers and its balconies, while shading it from those who prefer to be in its periphery or away from it.

ACTIVITY RENOVATIONA range of possible usesare recommended-communityspace, greenspace, research centre/library, connected literary venues, technology enhanced culturecentre, publication and reprinting/ translation studies/ book store/cultralhub/ student workshops ,seminars

VERSATILITY – a flexible space was created, its elements contributed towards a space that was everything or just a platform, and the activity de�nes its boundaries. The boundary changes with the activity, so does the user and the volume as a whole.

The arc of activity has it all, and the stage small and large / kids play area / the green space for localsaround / meeting spaces / buffer zones solitary visitors and community zones for those who need it
