Executive Message

What Does the Holiday Season Mean to You?

What does the holiday season mean to you? Take a minute to reflect on your most memorable experiences. They will likely encompass those you love and serve. Your memories may be as simple as hiking through the mountains to find just the right tree, sharing stories with your family, sipping hot chocolate, giving to someone in need, or visiting the elderly. The holidays hold memories for everyone, including all of us involved with ASEA.

I have been privileged to visit with many employees and Associates. I have been there when many of you have made the pivotal decision to join ASEA, then I’ve stood in awe as

you have taken the vision we all share and put it into action. I have been amazed at the stories and testimonials of people who say they owe their quality of life to ASEA. Isn’t it wonderful to be a part of something that does so much good?

This holiday season, I challenge you to focus on gratitude for something: your family, your neighbors, your relationships, or what lies ahead for you in the coming year. This season, may we all share the gift of ASEA in whatever ways we can.

We wish you the happiest of holidays.

The Power to Lift

Back when he was in high school, Gary Ferstler began an athletic career that would last a lifetime. In the beginning, it was all about football. Then, when he went into the Navy and began power lifting to stay strong for football, he ended up competing. He’s been with the sport ever since.

This elite power lifter, who has lived a healthy lifestyle his entire 55 years, has found a new secret to his health. Here’s how it happened.

After finishing a competition last June, Gary was beginning a new training cycle. His only change was that he was now drinking ASEA. “I started looking at my training record and

saw significant poundage for where I was,” Gary marvels. “People in the gym were saying, ‘That’s an impressive set you just did.’”

The kicker for Gary was when he did a back squat (where the point at the hip is lower than the point at knee). “You use reasonably light weight and do two to three reps,” he explains. “But I was doing double body weight—405 pounds—and sets of five. It was like I was 25 years old again.”

And he’s doing dead lifts with weight he was lifting back in his thirties.

“I’m pretty amazed by the product,” Gary says, even though at first he wasn’t completely convinced. “For the first week and a half, I really wondered if it was doing anything for me. My level of health was so high, it didn’t kick in so fast. But as I continued to train, it was evident that something was going on in my body, affecting my ability to perform in the gym.”

Now Gary says that even his energy level, which has always been high, has increased. “I can feel it. I can concentrate longer and go longer without a drop-off.”

Gary Ferstler is a body builder and ASEA Associate living in Honolulu, Hawaii.

A New Focus

Donovan Kerr was already into health when he first heard about ASEA. He was working in blood-cell microscopy, and he had an extensive background in the network marketing industry. Most of his business ventures had been health-focused, but there was something he had never focused on before: reactive molecules.

“When I flew in last November,” Donovan remembers, “I was amazed at the information I was learning. In all the years I spent talking about antioxidants, no one talked about reactive molecules. I thought, ‘How many people in a position like mine don’t know that we need them?’”

Donovan determined right away to get involved. One of the first people he gave ASEA to was his wife Carla, who had a specific health concern. “She’s had amazing results,” Donovan says. “Everyone we’ve introduced the product to has had amazing results!”

For Donovan, ASEA came at the perfect time in his life. He’d seen a lot of negative things happen in the industry—things that just weren’t ethical. “I had thought to myself, ‘Do I really want to spin my wheels?’” He wasn’t jaded; he was simply in a holding pattern.

Now he’s found a home. “ASEA is a family,” Donovan asserts, “and I know Verdis and James will never do anything to compromise the integrity of the company.”

The most significant change in the Kerrs’ lives has been the increased opportunity to help people. “We don’t have to tell anyone to stop doing what they’re doing,” he smiles. “We can just help them, and that has an impact on our lives. I don’t think there’s anything more gratifying than meeting someone in a negative situation, and have them call me and say, ‘Thank you; you’ve made a significant difference. I feel better.’ That’s a wonderful thing.”

That’s what keeps Donovan and Carla working and building. “The money we want to make will come,” Donovan says. “It’s a process, not an event—we’re fully committed, and we’ll never turn back.”

Donovan and Carla Kerr are Bronze Executives working their business in Toronto, Ontario.

One Product, One Decision

After 12 successful years with another health company—and 135 products at her disposal—Cindy Buck was feeling good. “We’d had some great experiences,” Cindy explains. “I had rescued my husband from corporate America, we were helping people, and we had grown a great business.”

But then things in that company started to change. The business model got complicated, and the compensation plan wasn’t able to sustain itself. The Bucks’ network began to shrink. And even though Cindy was still passionate about helping people, she was exhausted. In September 2009, she decided to step back.

It wasn’t until the following May that Cindy was ready to try again. “We started attending meetings,” she recalls, “looking at this team, that product line, that plan. For the

next month and a half we checked out as many companies as we could.”

ASEA stood head and shoulders above on many levels: product, leadership, compensation plan, philosophy, and timing. “It just felt right,” Cindy says. “It was the only company where I saw Fortune 100 meet network marketing.”

But more than that, Cindy felt that there was just something wholesome about ASEA. So much so that even with one more meeting with another company after her introduction to ASEA, she was undeterred. The Bucks spent four days meeting the other company’s owners, science boards, and top leaders.

“It was very seductive,” Cindy admits. “But at end of day, I didn’t feel like I was part of a cause. I felt tense.” She couldn’t see herself doing it long-term. “I saw a much longer-term relationship with ASEA.”

For Cindy, it was one product, ASEA. One company. One decision. And now, with just one product in her quiver, she always knows which one to pull. “ASEA is a good business with incredible product,” she asserts. “Because of that, the world becomes a better place every day.”

Cindy Buck is a Gold Executive living in Carbondale, Colorado.

Belief, Always

The last three years have brought big changes for the Bartley family. Chip, a historically successful network marketer, met his wife Buffy 20 years ago. Together they built a downline of 20,000 in a company that eventually failed. They moved on to find success in the mortgage business.

Then, in 2007, when the housing market began to crash, so did the Bartleys’ business. “We lost everything,” Chip says. “Home, car, you name it, it’s gone.”

Since then, Chip worked with two companies, one as a distributor, and one as a corporate trainer. Both companies went down.

“I’ve never been at a more challenging time in my life than now—to lose everything after years of having it, and start below square one,” Chip says.

But Chip never lost sight of what he needed to do. “ASEA really gave me a lot of clarity,” he states. “It’s something I believe in, and that I can get behind.” For him, it’s the sincerity of the ASEA story, and it’s a product that works.

Chip is most excited about the business aspect of this great company. “I’ve made millions a couple of times before,” he says, “and I’m sure we can do it again here.”

The mission is an emotional one for Chip. “I’m making sure our product gets to everyone. The financial health of our nation is pathetic, and people need help,” he says. “I enjoy instilling hope back into people in our country. There’s this air out there that life’s impossible. I like showing average folks a vehicle to help them achieve their dreams—to be a part of a solution instead of the problem, and helping people to their feet.”

While he helps people do that, he’s rising to the top himself. Chip has only been with ASEA since the end of July. He achieved Gold in his first six weeks, and he’s now on his way to Diamond. “I’m so pleased with everything about this company,” he says.

Chip Bartley is a Gold Executive working from his home in Camarillo, California.

FAQsQ: What do you mean by “all expenses paid?”

A: For each qualifying Associate and guest, ASEA will pay round-trip airfare from a nearby major airport, ground transportation transfers in Mexico, resort fees, meals, and select excursions.

Q: I want to take advantage of Earn & Pay. Do the Pay amounts cover one person or two?

A: Two. If you, for instance, accrue 63 enrollment cases, ASEA will pay 75% of the trip for you, you would pay a single fee of $750 and for that amount you and a guest will travel to the Moon Palace Resort, all expenses paid.

Q: What if one of my enrollees changes their mind and returns product?

A: All returns will be subtracted from your enrollment case total. This includes returns after the qualification period is over, so in that event, you may be subject to paying an additional amount for your trip.

Q: I want to work right up to the end of the qualification period to get as many enrollment cases as possible. If I use the Earn & Pay method, what is the last day I can register for this trip?

A: The hard deadline for registration is 5 p.m. Mountain Time, Monday, January 10, 2011. After this date, you cannot register. Our travel company will have extra staff available on January 10 to handle the expected rush in registrations.

Q: My husband and I would like to bring our children. Is that possible?

A: The Moon Palace is a family-friendly resort, and ASEA welcomes children at this event. However, please keep these rules in mind:

• The Associate traveler is responsible for all travel expenses for children.• Children ages 3 and under may stay at the resort free of charge.• Children ages 4 – 17 will incur a resort charge of $297 per child.• Children ages 18 and above must be paid for as adults, and the charge depends on room occupancy. Please contact Stoney at Destinations Travel (800.748.4777) for actual charges.• Since children will be paid for, they are welcome to all resort-supplied functions, such as meals, excursions, and the welcome reception. Out of courtesy for the other Associates, children should not attend ASEA training meetings.

Q: If I earn the trip and am unable to attend the scheduled event, can I attend another time? Can I simply take the value of the trip in cash?

A: No. This is a “use it or lose it” trip.

Q: If I pay for a portion of the trip and then can’t make it, can I get a refund?

A: Unfortunately, no. Our contract with the resort requires non-refundable payment. Please be absolutely certain of your personal schedule before registering for this event.
