Hydraulic lift :-Hydraulic lift is a device used for carrying
passenger or goods from one floor to another in multi-store building under the application of high pressure ,which are exerted by liquid.
Hydraulic press :-The hydraulic press is a device used for
lifting heavy weight by the application of a much smaller force .
Principle of hydraulic press:-It work on the principle of PASCAL ‘S
LAW which states that the intensity of pressure in a static fluid is same in all directions.
Working of Hydraulic Lift:-I. It consist of fixed cylinder, cage and sliding ram.II. When fluid under pressure is forced into the cylinder the ram gets push
upward .III. The plate form carries loads or passenger and moves between the guide .IV. At required height ,it can be made to stay in level with each floor .V. So the goods or passenger can transferred one floor to another floor .
Working of hydraulic press:-
I. It consist of two cylinder c1 and c2.II. Cylinder c1 is large and c2 is small .Both cylinder are connected
with connecting pipe .III. When force is applied on the plunger in downward direction then
pressure is produce .IV. This pressure is transmitted in all the direction , on the ram in
upward direction.V. Due to this large weight is lifted by applying small forces.
Types of hydraulic lift:-
It is of two type 1.Direct acting hydraulic lift2.Suspended hydraulic lift
PRESS:-Advantage :- It lift the heavy weight . Hydraulic presses are fast ,reliable ,productive and flexible
in nature. It uses incompressible fluid which result in a greater ,more
efficient and consistent work or power output.
Advantage:- It used to lift passenger or goods. It used in industry ,college ,and where carry goods.
Disadvantage:- The input here is mechanical .
