Cian Flynn -‐ Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Science Candidate -‐ Campaign Manifesto
My name is Cian Flynn, and I am running for the position of Representative of
Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Science for the coming academic year. I feel
that I have the necessary initiative, drive and most of all approachability to
ensure that the needs of the 8,000 students within the faculty will be catered
for. I feel that it is important that the issues raised by the average student are
heard and addressed, providing tangible results. I realise that some students
may at times feel isolated considering the sheer number of students in some
courses, but as Arts Rep, I hope to help make university life as enjoyable and
fulfilling an experience as possible. Listed below are the steps I wish to take if
elected:
• Introduction of class-based workshops for first year students with
regards to essay writing, researching and referencing in order to bridge
the gap between second and third level education
• Improve communication between class reps and college staff regarding
timetable changes, lecture cancellations and posting of course content
online
• Increase the influence of student-generated feedback towards modules
• Promote integration and communication between years in each course
by interacting with the class reps
