Longstreet1 s classic volume of stories which nation- ally initiated the school of frontier humor in 1835 has been given a handsome and useful reprinting by the Beehive Press, noted for its fine editions of Southern works, with a biographical and historical introduction by Richard Harwell.

Mad1 s Dave Berg Looks At Modern Thinking . A Mad Guide To Leisure Time . Hopping Mad . New York: Warner Books, 1976. 192 pages each. $1.25 each.

Three additions to the continuing Mad library. The Mad Guide to Leisure Time is an original volume by Dick DeBartolo and artist George Woodbridge, and the others are reprints from the magazine.

Lou Silverstone and Jack Rickard . Politically Mad . Al Jaffee. Still More Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions. Albert B. Feldstein, ed. The Vintage Mad. Albert B. Feldstein, ed. Good fNf Mad . New York: Warner Books, 1976. 192 pages each. $1.25 each.

Here are four generous helpings of the kind of zany art and madcap humor that made Mad magazine America's favorite humor publication. The second two volumes are gatherings by Feldstein of classic pages from the magazine of 1963 and 1968 vintage, and topical references hamper the quality of the humor very little* Politically Mad is an original spoof geared to take advantage of the unintentional insanity of the recent presidential election. Al Jaffe provides a third collection to the first two providing snappy answers to stupid questions (with spaces for the reader to write in his own also) #
