Art Lesson for Kindergarten and 1st Grade Objective: The student will be able to understand the style of Pop Art by drawing a cat, inspired by the artist, Romero Britto. cat with this Pop Art style tutorial. It’s all about drawing with lots of bright colors and patterns. The student will be able to demonstrate their understanding of pattern and color by creating brightly colored patterns on their cat. Watch the videos about the artist, Romero Britto. What are some things you notice about Romero Britto’s paintings? Use the Britto Cat Drawing Guide and follow steps 1-7 on any available paper. You can fold your paper into four squares. Use pencil, crayon, or marker in order to follow each step using lines to create your cat. Make sure you fill the page. Day 2: Watch the video on pattern. Remember to add color and pattern just like Romero Britto onto your cat. Make sure you have patterns all over your paper and use really bright colors throughout your work.
