ARTLINK INC. IS SUPPORTED BY:

ABOUT ARTLINK INC. Artlink Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to linking artists, business and the public to better understand, appreciate and support a thriving arts community in downtown Phoenix. Board of directors: Catrina Kahler - President, Sarah Levi - Vice President, Stephanie Lieb - Secretary, Jill Bernstein - Treasurer, Phil Jones, Sarah “Sally” Russell, Hillary Foose, Hugo Medina and Dan Clevenger.

WITH SPECIAL THANKS TO: Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton, City of Phoenix Department of Aviation, Support Sky Harbor, Reinvent PHX, Dunn Transportation, Simply Adam Mann Design, Invexi Web Development, and all Friends of Artlink including our Articipants, Volunteer Coordinator Brooks Werner, Newsletter Coordinator Emily Allender, and all of our tour guides and volunteers!

Art Detour is downtown Phoenix’s annual open house, an invitation to explore the spaces where artists create, exhibit, and sell their work.

From private studios opened to visitors just two days a year, to out-of-the-ordinary art spaces, “pop-up” galleries, and professional exhibition spaces, Art Detour points you in the right direction to celebrate our city.

Proof that Phoenix is an art town through and through? Start at almost any corner in downtown Phoenix and take a moment to look around. You'll see art woven into the sidewalks, gates, and streets. Within minutes of your journey you’ll spot murals on buildings, stumble across sculptures in parks and courtyards, or be delighted by paintings on the wall of your favorite restaurant.

Visit an Art Detour Information Hub, hop on one of the free, circulating trolleys, and let this map help point the way to your next destination. Follow and connect the dots of this map to downtown destinations, hot spots, and secret nooks and crannies to discover an arts community that is connected at its core.

This incredible weekend comes together through the collaborative efforts of many participants, volunteers, sponsors and elves in the night. Join us in thanking each and every one of them for helping make this the premiere downtown arts event of the year.

And thank you for taking the Art Detour!

SAVE THE DATE! In its 4th year, the 6th Avenue Gallery

presents "Inspired Soles" art show and auction benefiting Artlink. The “well heeled” fundraiser features dozens

of stilettos transformed into one-of-kind pieces by local artists,

designers and celebrities. Charity auction Thursday, April 2nd with First Friday

viewing April 3rd.

HOW TO DETOUR

Art Detour invites you to take a self-guided tour of nearly 100 studios, galleries, art spaces and more in greater downtown Phoenix. It's a unique opportunity to see artists in their creative work spaces, and enjoy remarkable shows in traditional galleries, pop-up spots, and other unusual and interesting art spaces. Use this guide to connect the dots for a new perspective on what's hot downtown.

CONNECT THE DOTS

There are four Park-and-Ride Hubs set up throughout downtown. Park at one of the Hubs, grab a map and ask any questions you may have at the information booth, then hop on one of the free Artlink shuttles that will circulate along the official Detour route during event hours. Shuttles will stop at the Hubs at approximately 20 - minute intervals throughout the day, where you can hop on/hop off as you please.

GETTING AROUND

Burton Barr Public Library, 1221 North Central Ave.Grand Avenue (Oasis on Grand), 1501 NW Grand Ave.CityScape, 1 E. Washington St. (Shuttle stop - Central & Washington)Arizona Center, 400 E. Van Buren St. (Shuttle stop - 3rd St & Van Buren)

HUB LOCATIONS

Use Valley Metro Light Rail to Detour! Light Rail stations are close to both CityScape and Burton Barr Library, so take a ride downtown, hop on a free Detour shuttle and enjoy the fun, with no worries about parking. Bring your bike along and create your own bike Detour, or rent a GRID bike from one of many GRID bike locations throughout downtown.

LIGHT RAIL & BIKE

Check the listings for two dozen participating restaurants and bars, all great options to re-fuel and quench your thirst as you explore.

RESTAURANTS & BARS

Most of the artwork on display at Art Detour is available to purchase. If you see something you like, talk to the artist and learn how easy it is to pick up a one-of-a-kind piece of art for your home or office. In addition to the art spaces, pop-ups, galleries, restaurants and bars, discover the art-friendly shops that are dotted (get it?) throughout the downtown core.
