“Panhellenic” meaning, “all Greek,” is an organization of all sorority women. As soon as a woman accepts a bid from an NPC sorority, she is a member of the National Panhellenic Conference.

The governing body of the National Panhellenic Conference at Arkansas Tech University is the College Panhellenic Council, sometimes called CPC. CPC promotes unity among the sororities and is composed of women from each chapter on campus.

Participation in the recruitment process is the best way to learn as much as you can about each of our sorority chapters and discover all of the positive things Greek Life has to offer.

Tech is proud of its sorority women. They excel in academics and serve in many leadership roles on campus. By deciding to go through formal recruitment you have taken the first step towards becoming part of a very special group.

Recruitment is a fun and exciting time. Try not to be overwhelmed by all of the new faces, terms, and guidelines. CPC and Rho Sigmas are here to help you and make you feel comfortable! We are here for you!

The most important person you will meet during recruitment is your Recruitment Counselor, or Rho Sigma. Their job is to assist you with recruitment in any way, shape or form. They will provide you with the information regarding event times and places and answer any questions you may have.

Rho Sigmas are sorority members who have been carefully selected and trained to encourage you and guide you. Their sorority affiliation is not identified during recruitment. This is because we want them to have an unbiased opinion when helping you with your choice. We also want you to feel comfortable talking with any of the Rho Sigmas about any of the sorority chapters. Never hesitate to ask questions or discuss feelings with any Rho Sigma. Anything you say to them will remain strictly confidential. Please do not ask them their affiliation or try to find out. You will find out the affiliation of CPC officers and the Rho Sigmas on Bid Day.

Your Rho Sigmas will be with you all three days, holding informative group meetings, participating in activities with you, and just being your friend. They know a lot about Greek Life and the recruitment process, and are eager to help you!

Recruitment begins with a series of 30 minute parties. You will rotate until you have visited all three sororities. During this round you will have to opportunity meet many smiling faces, talk with chapter members, and learn about each sorority. Do not be discouraged if you do not have time for in-depth conversations because these parties are short. Don't be afraid to ask questions you may have about individual sororities. Just remember to relax and have fun!

This night is designed to emphasize the philanthropies. community service projects, and campus activities that the sororities are involved in. In this round you will have 45 minutes to participate in an activity and learn about the sorority's philanthropic work. These parties have an informal atmosphere, allowing you and the sorority women to get to know each other better. These parties are a little bit longer to allow more of an opportunity to ask questions you might have. The sorority women will answer any of your questions, so don't be shy!

This is the formal night of the recruitment process. An invitation to this round means that a sorority is very interested in you as a potential new member (PNM). In this round, you will have one hour in two of the three sororities. This round focuses on the sorority's sisterly values and it tends to be the most emotional night of the week. Remember that this decision will affect the rest of your life, so go with your heart and not the opinions of your friends. What is right for them may or may not be right for you. Immediately after you leave the last chapter's party you will be asked to list, in order of your preference, the sororities that you attended for the preference round.

At the conclusion of the recruitment process, you will be asked to complete a Membership Agreement. This agreement is binding until the next formal recruitment period; so make sure you understand the following terms.

I am willing to accept an invitation to membership from any women's sorority that I list on this agreement.

I may limit my choice to just one OR list any women's sorority whose preference round (last) event I attended, and from which I am willing to accept membership. I realize that by not listing the maximum number of events I attended, I may be limiting my potential to join any other NPC group during formal recruitment should I not be placed with my choice(s).

Once I submit this agreement to the College Panhellenic Council, I cannot change the order of my preferences or add or delete a preference.

If I do not receive an invitation to membership from a group that I have listed, I am eligible for continuous open bidding.

I have the option of not submitting an agreement at this time.

Once I submit this agreement, I am bound by the National Panhellenic Conference one calendar year rule. This rule states that if I receive an invitation to membership from a group that I have listed and then do not accept it, I am NOT eligible to be pledged until the beginning of the next primary membership recruitment period.

Hazinga negative form of conduct that focuses on mistreating, demeaning, or otherwise degrading the personal worth of another individual. Hazing is prohibited by Tech, by all national fraternities, and is illegal in Arkansas.
