The Argentinean Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation has been working for several years now on the idea of a National Sea Data System (SNDM) to bring the benefits related to sharing this information both to local and international scientific comunity.
For this reason, an Advisory Committee was appointed to determine how to establish this future system.
Two existing portals were highlighted as potential platforms: SeaDataNet and IODE Ocean Data Portal (ODP). With all the information received and inquiries made to this portals, the Advisory Committee recommended to use the ODP technologies for the establishment of the National Sea Data System.
