“ The premise of this project is that most of youhave experienced these spaces in a meaningfulway—through games. You are to enter thespaces of these games not as a player, but as anobserver, documenting a space that you believebest depicts a typical space in the game.”

“ During the course of the year, we will engage in a de-sign process where the consideration of immediate site and local context is a critical component. This project will use a more observational, qualitative approach to “site analysis” which will ultimately result in the creation of a map in which the path and all its subtlety is designated by a single line. “

“ Regardless of scale, an object located within the world has an immediate surrounding that demands consider-ation, and in the case of this project, the context you will be reacting to—and creating from—will be one which you create from two of your square photos. “project

“ This next project embodies a step that is crucial and complex part of the design process: taking forms and concepts created two dimensionally and translating them into three dimensions. The series of operations devel-oped previously will continue here, as the first steps of the project begin the process of transforming a flat plane using cuts and folds. “

“ Frequently, a designer will find the need to make a field visit to record a place the impressions and information needed as the basis for design actions. While one’s own abilities of recollection are critical, the ability to gather an insightful set of recollections is best activated by directaction and engagement with the setting. “

reflection

not so much “architorture”coming into architecure was honestly a pretty terrifying thought. surprisingly, this quarter was pretty eye-opening. i never realized how much i’d like the subject. professor wiley was an amazing professor to have for my first quarter into architecture. his class was so damn enjoyable, i loved it. although i struggled with some of theprojects this quarter, i learned a lot and i will definitely improve next quarter. i’m kinda sad that i’ll be leaving wiley’s studio, but i’m excited to learn from professor humberto.

my entire perspective on architecture has changed. it’s not as bad as i perceived it to be. it’s not so much “architorture“.
