APTRA OFFERS INSIGHTS TO ASIA PACIFIC TRAVEL RETAIL

The Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA) will host a special seminar during TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference in Singapore designed to boost understanding of the duty free & travel retail commercial environment in the region and its potential. The ‘APTRA Insights Seminar’ will take place over breakfast in Room 3211, Level 3, Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre on Wednesday 13th May from 07.30-09.30. After a welcome by APTRA President Jaya Singh, Peter Mohn, CEO m1nd-set will summarise key findings of recent studies commissioned by APTRA into the purchasing behaviour and motivations of Chinese travelling consumers. This theme will be developed further by Anson Bailey, Principal, Business Development at KPMG. Smriti Kataria, Director, Marketing & Research, AdNear will broaden the focus to explore methods of reaching all of Asia’s travelling consumers while they are on the move. AdNear specialises in providing solutions to target consumers with relevant location-specific messages on mobiles. The technology is particularly relevant to brands and retailers in travel retail to tap into the potential impulse purchase segment. All interested parties are welcome. The seminar is free to APTRA Members – up to two free places per member company with discounts on subsequent places – and costs SGD50 for non-members. To register delegates should email Sharolyn Paul, APTRA Administrator at [email protected]. The Association, which this year celebrates 10 years of support and assistance to the regional industry, will maintain a high profile throughout the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference event. Jaya Singh, President will address the opening plenary of the Conference on Monday 11th May; the Association will also contribute to Workshop C on ‘Asia’s Rising Stars’ - a session which is underpinned by ongoing APTRA research; and APTRA will moderate and contribute to the invitation-only Industry Association Working Lunch that day at which regulatory matters and other issues of concern will be discussed. Finally, the APTRA Annual General Meeting will take place on Wednesday 13th from 16.30–17.30 in Room 3211, Level 3 of the venue. Stakeholders who are developing their business in the Asia Pacific region and who may be concerned by regulatory issues currently on the table, or who wish to support the regional association, can find the APTRA team at their stand R11 on Level 1 of the exhibition.
