Application Guidelines:

To be considered for funding, applications must be complete and include the following: 1. This application form 2. An electronic Duke transcript (should be sent as attachment with application) 3. An essay (500 words, max) addressing your reasons for applying according to the preference

criteria listed for the scholarship (visit https://asianpacific.duke.edu/funding for specific criteria); a basic budget and timeline are needed for applications for language study, summer research, or the Janet B. Chiang grant, including a list of any potential or actual other funding sources

4. A recommendation letter from a Duke faculty member (may also be emailed by the faculty directly to apsi@duke.edu) note: this is not needed for Japan and Korea language study abroad scholarship applications but is required for summer research, the Janet B. Chiang Grant, and the Sirena WuDunn Memorial Scholarship
