It is a matter of immense grief to inform you that Mr. Junaid Hafeez, a sparkling writer and eminent intellectual hailing from south Punjab, Pakistan is imprisoned in Multan jail under the charges of blasphemy. It is pertinent to mention that the above-said person is undergoing such trauma because he was a very hot candidate of a lectureship seat advertised for English department prior to it. A cruel departmental politics in collaboration with religious fanatics indulged this innocent guy in a base-less and absurd case .Moreover, his only hope, Rashid Rehman, a human right activist, has been killed keeping in with his brave effort to provide legal consultancy to Mr. Junaid Hafeez. This brutal murder has left nothing in the hands of a poor soul who is “waiting for godot” now.

I strongly support the international campaign in favour of the release of Mr. Junaid Hafeez. I request you to use all the powers available at your disposal to mediate and intervene for the release of him.
