Seine meist idyllischen Gemälde, Aquarelle und Zeichnungen zeigen überwiegend das Leben seiner Familie in und um das Wohnhaus in Sundborn, Schweden, das Carl Larsson 1888 von seinen Schwiegereltern geschenkt bekam. Carl und seine Frau Karin gelten als Begründer des heute als typisch schwedisch geltenden Wohnstils, dessen wesentliche Elemente Helligkeit, Farbigkeit und lebendig-fröhliche Funktionalität sind.

His mostly idyllic paintings, aquarelles and drawings show predominately the life of his family in and around its home in Sundborn, Sweden, that Carl Larsson received from his parents-in-law in 1888. Carl and his wife Karin are regarded as the founders of the Swedish lifestyle seen today as typical, with its principal elements of light, colour and lively functionality.

Ses tableaux, aquarelles et dessins la plupart du temps idylliques retracent principalement la vie de sa famille dans et autour de la maison située à Sundborn en Suède, offerte en 1888 par les beaux-parents de Carl Larsson. Carl et sa femme Karin sont considérés comme les fondateurs de ce que l’on décrit aujourd’hui comme le style d’habitation typiquement suédois qui se caractérise essentiellement par la clarté, les couleurs et le côté foncti-onnel à la fois vivant et joyeux.
