Analysing the Documentary on The rise

Camera • Close up on all the different wolfs. Used to show the many wolfs in that

environment • Mid-shot to show the pack. This is used to show how the interact with each

other.• Zoom in to show two wolfs fighting. Used to make the fight scene more intense

and get most of the action.• Close up on a wolfs paws. Used to change the atmosphere and bring the black

wolf into the scene.• Zoom out on wolfs face. Used to show the wolfs expression and how it is felling

in this certain situation.• Long shot used to show the black wolf in action in a chase scene and to show

how fast the wolf and deer are running.• Moving shot. used to follow the black wolf while it was walking • Big close up. used to see the wolfs expression in its eyes. • Establishing shot: used to show the next scene in the documentary and the

layout of the environment.

Sound • Music ( intense) this is used to show the scene in which the

wolfs are in. • Narration used to tell the story.• Music (sly up beat song) used to show the wolfs personality.• Sound effect (wolfs growling) used to show how a wolf

communicates. • sound effect (birds) used to show that the birds are in that

area in the scene and how they are communicating. • Sound effect (bison's) used to show how they are

communicating.

Editing

• Slow motion: used to get the full effect of the chase scenes.• Cut: used to enter the black wolf into the scene. Also

used to show several clips of the black wolf.• Fade: used to move to a clip of the black wolf playing. • Filter: this was used to focus the image on the black wolf. • Context/title: used to show the name of the

documentary to the viewers.

Mise-en-scene• Snow: this shows that the wolfs tend to live or travel in cold environments.• Black coats on the wolfs: used to show what the main character of the

documentary look like. • Multi colour fear on wolfs: used to show what these wolf look like and that they

are not the main character • River: used to show the scenery of the next location and as water for the wolfs • Trees: used to describe location • Avalanche: used to show the next location and how cold and dangerous it can

be.• Mountain: used a scenery and to show how high and dangerous the location is.• Geyser: this is used to show that the pups are in a environment with a lot of

steam and that can become really humid.• Grass: used to show that the wolfs also live in warm environments with lots of

grass making it easier for them to hunt other animals. • Pups: used to show the wolfs at young ages and how they lived back then.• Rocks: used to show the danger and that the journey the black wolf takes is not

a straight path.• Deer: another animal used in chase scenes for the documentary.• Birds: an animal type that played a part in the documentary. • Bison: an animal type that played a part in the documentary.• Ducks: an animal type that played a part in the documentary.
