Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”) Training Update

AML training requirements MetLife is required to ensure its producers have completed Anti-Money Laundering training. MetLife delivers AML courses through LIMRA, an industry-leading AML training provider. These are the only AML courses that meet MetLife’s requirements. LIMRA’s training courses reinforce awareness of AML rules and regulations so that representatives can recognize the warning signs of money laundering and understand their responsibilities related to reporting suspicious activities. Reminder - Term business excluded Effective July 2014, term business is no longer included in the Anti-Money Laundering training requirements. Producers submitting term cases will not have to complete the LIMRA training. However, please note that producers submitting any other business (Universal Life, Variable Universal Life or Whole Life) will be required to complete the AML courses as outlined below.

*Through LIMRA, MetLife offers a base course and a refresher course that is updated every 2 years. Effective July 19, 2014, the courses required are as follows:

Some representatives may have already completed these LIMRA courses as part of their contract requirements with other carriers. If so, they will count toward fulfilling this requirement with MetLife. Our Licensing team will contact representatives if this situation occurs.
