ANTHROPOLOGY :SCIENCE that STUDIES the MAN under ALL ASPECTS, i.e. SOCIAL, CULTURAL and PHYSICAL

SPIRITUALITY : EVERYTHING that INVOLVES the SPIRIT. Has VARIOUS MEANINGS and INTERPRETATIONS, INCLUDING FAITH and DIVINITY. Each INDIVIDUAL has ONE, with CHARACTERISTICS that are EXCLUSIVE and UNIQUE.

Page 3: ANTHROPOLOGICAL SPIRITUALITY

ANTHROPOLOGICAL SPIRITUALITY puts at the CORE of every INTEREST the MAN, MEASURE and RULE of the UNIVERSE

Page 4: ANTHROPOLOGICAL SPIRITUALITY

We can only rest assuredof TWO THINGS :

The STARRY SKY ABOVE US and the MORAL CONSCIENCE inside ourselves

I. Kant

Page 5: ANTHROPOLOGICAL SPIRITUALITY

LYING to OURSELVES and to the OTHERS is caused by our TROUBLES.

SINCERITY with OURSELVES and the OTHERS is INDISPENSABLE to START a real CHANGE.

RECONCILIATION with OURSELVES and the OTHERS takes place through FORGIVENESS, which is more IMPORTANT for the FORGIVING than the FORGIVEN

Page 6: ANTHROPOLOGICAL SPIRITUALITY

Is a WINDING ROAD, a SPIRITUAL PATH,having an INDIVIDUAL DIMENSION.One has to try and MOVE FORWARD towards a GOAL, like a higher degree of AWARENESS, becoming WISER,in COMMUNION with GOD or NATURE, getting rid of the limitations of SENSES and MIND.

SPIRITUALITY

Rodin – The thinker

can be a short JOURNEY, witha SPECIFIC AIM or a PATH that lasts LIFE LONG Every EVENT of LIFE is PART of this PATH,with SIGNIFICANT MOMENTS, like MEDITATION, INTROSPECTION, SELF CRITICISM, COMPARISON with OTHERS, PRAYER.

SPIRITUAL PATH

Dürer

Page 8: ANTHROPOLOGICAL SPIRITUALITY

Is a continuous INTROSPECTIONwhich ALLOWS us to clearly UNDERSTAND who WE ARE (SELF CONSCIENCE)

and to FREELY CHOOSE who WE WANT TO BECOME (SELF PROMOTION)

G. La Tour

MEDITATION

Page 9: ANTHROPOLOGICAL SPIRITUALITY

Having a very THOUGHTFUL cast of MIND, one has to think only of ONESELF, NOT of the EXTERNAL WORLD, to implement SELF CRITICISM

SELF CONSCIENCE

You see the MOTE in your brother’s eye, but not the BEAM in YOUR OWN ?

DON’T ASK what your COUNTRY can do FOR YOU, ASK what YOU CAN do for your COUNTRY.

Luca, Gospel, 6, 41

THINK POSITIVELY

MENTAL ATTITUDE cwhich allows you to FACEthe PROBLEMS in SERENITY, NOT DRAMATIZING them, through REFLEXION, COMPARISON, ACCEPTANCE, trying to OVERCOME what CANNOT be CHANGED

Page 15: ANTHROPOLOGICAL SPIRITUALITY

EVERYONE has the CAPACITY,and the DUTY, to UNDERSTAND andGET TO KNOW himself.

EVERYONE can CHANGE his LIFE STYLE, SEEKING and FINDING FAVOURABLE CONDITIONS to FACE and MANAGE his PROBLEMS.

Page 16: ANTHROPOLOGICAL SPIRITUALITY

• SHORT DISTANCE PATH: ABSTINENCE NECESSARY and INDISPENSABLE MEAN to START approaching the SOBRIETY

• LIFE LONG PATH: SOBRIETY FREE and RESPONSIBLE CHOICE in orderto CHANGE our LIFE

OBJECTIVES PROPOSED by the CLUB as SPIRITUAL PATH

Page 17: ANTHROPOLOGICAL SPIRITUALITY

COMMITTMENT of CLUB

is to CREATE

the CONDITIONS

to IMPLEMENT

the SPIRITUAL PATH

of all its MEMBERS

through EMPATHY

Page 18: ANTHROPOLOGICAL SPIRITUALITY

is a WAY to UNDERSTAND what the OTHERS are FEELINGwith RESPECT and PARTICIPATION. A WAY to OFFER a RELATIONSHIP BASED on LISTENING WITHOUT JUDGING, LISTENING WITH INTEREST to other MEMBERS’ FEELINGS and NEEDS

EMPATHY

Page 19: ANTHROPOLOGICAL SPIRITUALITY

means being AVAILABLE to OFFER FULL ATTENTION, PUTTING ASIDE OUR OWN WORRIES and FEELINGS for a while;is a WAY to establish a better COMMUNICATION which can be LEARNT by EXPERIENCE and BASED on HUMBLENESS

EMPATHY

Mantegna

Page 20: ANTHROPOLOGICAL SPIRITUALITY

•SOCIAL WELL BEING

ORIGINATES

from PERSONAL WELL BEING

•UNLESS you FEEL WELL with

YOURSELF, how can you FEEL

WELL with the OTHERS ?

SOCIAL EMPATHY:

Page 21: ANTHROPOLOGICAL SPIRITUALITY

Is to be SENSITIVE for all EVENTS happening on EARTH, feeling INVOLVED and CO-RESPONSIBLE; it is NECESSARY to CREATE a COLLECTIVE CONSCIENCE to MODIFY some DEEPLY ROOTED BEHAVIOURS at SOCIAL and CULTURAL level

SOCIAL EMPATHY

Page 22: ANTHROPOLOGICAL SPIRITUALITY

In order to DEVELOP a “HEALTH CULTURE” in the SOCIETY, it is NECESSARY to PROMOTEsome VALUES such as:

• INTERDEPENDENCE, as a SYSTEM of INTER-RELATIONS, RAISED to the level of MORAL and SOCIAL CAZTEGORY, a VIRTUE.

• SOLIDARITY, as the WILLINGNESS to UNDERTAKE ACTIONS for the COMMON GOOD,

in other words for the GOOD of EVERYONE.

• EVERYONE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYONE

John Paul II, Enciclica “SOLLECITUDO REI SOCIALIS”

Page 23: ANTHROPOLOGICAL SPIRITUALITY

The CHANGE DOES NOT ONLY MEAN SEEKING and LIVING the SOBRIETY at INIVIDUAL LEVEL, but in addition MEANS a NEW KIND of BEHAVIOUR involving the FAMILIES and the COMMUNITY. FINDING and IMPLEMENTING a NEW POSSIBILITY to COMMUNICATE and INTERACT for a BETTER QUALITY of LIFE.

ECOLOGICAL – SOCIAL APPROACH for the TREATMENT of ALCOHOLRELATED and MIXED PROBLEMS

LIFE, a mystery that can be seen either as a spontaneous development of organic material from the Universe, or as a gift from God or from the Nature.

In both cases it is not our private property, on the contrary, we might say that it has been lent to us by God or the Nature. In any event, even though we are free to use it, from an ethical point of view we are not free to intentionally damage it or to destroy it.

Hudolin Assisi 1995

IS NOT a VIRTUE in the ABSTRACT,

it EMERGES IN EVERY DAY’S GESTURES,
