The Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) of the IQAC

oxides: Synthesis, characterization and applications”

sanctioned by DST-SERB, New Delhi.

The college publishes its updated handbooks annually. The College has a Career Guidance and

Placement Cell. The committee collects displays information regarding placement and job

opportunities. Notifications regarding various exams are displayed on notice board. The Soft-

skill Program launched by the University is very useful in overall personality development and

goes a long way in enhancing the employability of the students. Financial support is given to

economically backward students from government and from other sources. The college also has

grievance redressal cell.

BEST PRACTICE

1. Anand Social Centre (ASC)

Objective of the Practice

To create social consciousness among students, about social, culture, economical,

political and gender equity.

To impart value based education among the students.

To give a platform for generating civic responsibility and leadership development in

building up national integrity.

To train the students for event management and social outlook for the welfare of

community.

2. Need Addressed and the Context

Our college is located in the rural area of Sahyadri ranges of Ahmednagar district. People of

this area mainly depend upon seasonal agriculture. There are many areas of community needs

where the participation of students is necessary. These services are in conformity with the

aims and objectives of the institution.

3. The Practice

The college has adopted to cater services to 'Anand bhakta' and 'Mohatadevi bhakta'. The

college has selected locality as a college campus and Chichodigaon, a birth place of Anand

rushiji Maharaj sab.

The college is celebrating Anand Mahotsava as a community festival for all Anand bhakta.

Such festival provides a platform for student to bring out their leadership and managerial

skills. The students and faculties are actively involved in rally, pathanatya, dhol pathak and

dindi etc which gives message to society about national integration. ASC is an event helping

for interpersonal relationship among students and society. The 'Mahaprasad' or the catering

of food to all bhakta is a very best experience for the students to learn social responsibility,

discipline, and division of labour and development of various skills.

4. Evidence of Success

Anand Social Center has received wide appreciation from students, parent, society and the

media. This activity was arranged by student under the guidance of faculty. So such platform

provided them a good experience of group activity. It also helped for motivating their skills

like leadership development. Such programmes motivated the students to participate in other

social outreach programmes where they work with the under privileged section of society.

5. Resources

The resources to celebrate these festivals are generated by the social donors in the form of

offering Mahaprasd. The students and faculty of college offers breakfast to Mohatadevi

bhakta every year. The staff, students alumni and management have always been generous

enough to lend their support for such activities.

Best Practice

2. Activities for Overall development of girl students

1. Objective of the Practice

To conduct various activities for girl students for more capable to face the challenges of

the competitive world.

To provide extended facilities to girls for all-round development.

To arouse social consciousness among girls to apply their educational principles to

concrete social issues.

To educate about health, nutrition and hygiene for better quality life.

2. Need Addressed and the Context

Shri Anand ccollege is located in the rural area. Most of people are not conscious about girl's

higher education. There is needed to make girls aware about their education rights and try to

create self-reliance to live bravely and courageously in the society. Many girls are

unconscious about their health; even they don't share it with their parents. So it is needed to

do better efforts for overall development of girl students.

3. The Practice

The college has been conducting special activities to make girl students more capable, to

achieve academic excellence and successfully face the challenges of the competitive world.

Especially, girl belonging to weaker sections in society are given preference in Earn and

Learn scheme. Vidyarthini Manch (Girl Students‟ Association) is specially established to

uphold the value of women equality on the college campus. To improve the confidence level

among the girl students, the association organises various competitions like Rangoli,

Mehandi, Easy Writing, Debating and Elocution. The mother parent meet is arranged to

discuss various activities carried out by the college for overall development of the girl

students. Our college is organizing Yoga and Meditation Workshop for girl students.

4. Evidence of Success

Special activities for girls helped them to fight against social evils like female feticide, dowry

practice and sexual discrimination assault etc. Girls are motivating to others for self-defence

by arranging lectures, demonstration of Judo Karate. Moreover, theme-based cultural

programmes have helped to implant the basic values in the girl students. It is observed in

many programmes that girl students are discussing to fight against the domestic violence and

injustice.

5. Resources

The resources to organize such program are help is generated by the staff and students. S P

Pune University has provided financial assistance for conducting workshops.
