8 Angstrom facilities and personnel Modern 9,000 square meter workshop and yard area. State of the art CNC equipment. Modern specialised hard facing welding equipment. A wide range of equipment including lifting cranes,

lathes, boring mills, slotting machines, furnaces and presses.

Large standby generators. Angstrom boasts a strong well trained multi racial

personnel compliment; +/- 60 employees. In house developed and training of black technocrats

are instrumental in the various key dynamics of the operations.

Ongoing skills transfer, training and development yields great successes and continuity – MERSETA accreditation.

technology and systems in South Africa. New technology development and application agreements were recently (2016) been concluded with Corewire.

Angstrom is the channel distributor of MFL Maschinenfabrik Liezen for most African countries. MFL is an original plant equipment manufacturer.

Angstrom is the approved supplier of German based TR-Electronic components in South Africa, they develop manufacture and sell sensors, encoders and actuators for industrial applications in automation technology

13 Welding Quality Assurance (ISO 3834)Welding is a “special” process, you cannot make a complete verification of the welded joint without destroying it. To ensure the proper quality of a welded product quality has to be built in from the beginning.ISO 3834 sets out requirements for manufacturers to meet. Welding Procedure Specifications has to be based on a Welding Procedure Qualification Record, desired quality of the products is already guaranteed during production/procedures. At Angstrom we ensure high welding quality through;

• Working according to ISO 3834.• Having a qualified Quality Manager overseeing all procedures and welder trainer.• Our in-house developed standard operating procedures and systems.• Well trained welders.• Using best of breed welding consumables (Weldclad).

14Roller refurbishment

Driven by ISO 3834, internal processes and Weldclad world class consumables

Evaluate roller condition, machining and clean up cracks, clad rollers with correct cladding, ensure specified composition, final machining to size, conduct heat treatment; all within standard operating procedures with full traceability.
