Completed a Strategic Commercialisation Project as the final part of my recent Masters in International Entrepreneurship Management in UL. This Thesis involved carrying out market research for a specialised cooking pot product, designed in UL by a product design student. The Thesis comprised of c 20,000 words.

Developed my own survey questionnaire on the product, and completed a full qualitative and quantitative analysis on the survey results; subsequently produced a full commercialisation marketing strategy and business plan. The product is being further enhanced before a final decision is made to carry out further market research or to go to market.

Carried out an extensive amount of sales and PR in dealing with organisations approached to engage with the survey, which was necessary to generate the required survey quota of respondents for successful market analysis.

This position incorporated representing Iretex within the sales and PR areas, while liaising with Dell management

Duties: Monitored four production lines in Dell for specific line quantity and computer type

outputs. Dell employed a ‘Just in Time’ production system and order accuracy was vital to ensure that the right product packaging was continually supplied.

Gathered hourly information through examining the line testing racks, organised it and fed this information for accurate ordering to the Iretex ordering department stationed in Dell.

Regularly liaised with Dell management to ensure that no major product changes were scheduled for production, as errors in logistics packaging ordering could result in millions of €euros being lost in production, which would reduce Dell’s profitability and competitive advantage.

Responsibility for quality control on 4 production lines as a member of a quality control team. The role required up to 10,000 quality checks over 12 hour day and night shifts and quality issue feedback to the quality scientists, as well as liaising with the engineering Dept and occasionally senior management.

NOTE: At this time, Vistakon had multi-million €euro contracts with Japanese clients, and inaccuracy in monitoring quality or mis-communication in reporting defects, would damage the company’s relationship with its clients and the continuation of the Japanese contracts.
