TITLE: My uncle Juan R. Salvadores-Canedo

Page 2: Andreás uncle

1. - The date of birth of my uncle Juan was the 25th. of April of 1957. The place was La

Coruña. So, he was born twelve years before than my mother.

2. - He lived his childhood in the very popular neighborhood of Monelos. Its little river (in fact a

creek) and its old cinema were well known in the city. My uncle was so happy there, watching movies, playing

soccer, jumping across the creek and living lots of adventures with his friends.

3. - He studied his first school years in a little private school, close to the “Cine Monelos”, and

to his house also. Later, he went to PP. Dominicos famous school, in the other end of La Coruña. He finished his High School years at the “Instituto Masculino Riazor”, close to the beach

and the stadium of the same name

4. - When he finished his time in the Army, in 1977, he became a soccer coach and he worked in a general

store. In 1979 he went to Zamora and Leon, for working in the “Banco Pastor”. He felt in love about the

mountains named Picos de Europa

5. - In 1985 he married Teresa, and they moved to the Canary Islands: my aunt became a teacher there and my uncle became a Ranger for the

Wildlife Survey Government departments.

6. - In 1987 and 1988 my cousins Marco and Asier were born. They lived some months in continental Spain, because my uncle and my aunt were very

busy in their jobs.

7. - During these years, my uncle coached soccer teams in the evenings, but he studied a lot too. He became

Bachelor, Master and teacher, but he still worked in the

wild, because he loves it a lot.

8. - In 2005 the entire family traveled to Texas, in part for pleasure but in part for knowing the North American soccer.

9. - They liked it, and during the school year of 2006-07 they lived in Lafayette, Louisiana. My aunt worked there as a teacher. My uncle was a

teacher, too , but a professor and a soccer coach as well . My cousins lived a kind of sabbatical year, and they worked some hours and played and coached

soccer with my uncle.

10. - They came back to Spain, but my uncle missed U.S.A., and he and Teresa went back to North America for the school year 2009-10. They worked again as teachers, in the “Visiting Teachers Canada-USA-Spain Program”, exactly like in 2006-07. This time, they lived in Louisiana again, but in the city of Baton Rouge

11. - My cousins remained in Spain, at their Colleges. So, my aunt and my uncle had a lot of free time, and they traveled a lot across the

South and the Southwest of U.S.A.

13. - He worked in a black neighborhood and High School, Scotlandville-Baton Rouge. It is not easy to teach there, but he liked it a lot. Some students used to say that my uncle was their

favorite teacher

16. - They are back in Spain, but my uncle Juan is thinking about teaching again in U.S.A. for 2011-12. This time, his plan is going to Kentucky, in the Midwest. My cousin Asier is studying there, with a scholarship, and he uses to say “This State is fantastic!” My uncle

agrees…
