Mostly lacking bargaining power, social protecon, accessibility, economically vulnerable and are subject to majority of exploitaon o HBWs are a large and vulnerable group of mainly women workers who produce goods and services in own homes A Visual Journey of The Theme Danphe Danphe is found in ve countries in the Hindu Kush Region. It is a symbol of Prosperity & wealth, resourcefullness, creavity, inuence & rene. The pheasant is a cousin of the peacock, and its symbolic aributes are similar to those of the peacock which can be found here. Further , unlike most winged creatures, the pheasant nests on the ground rather than trees which is a symbol of ANANA. I nspired by the rst ANANTA in Ahemdabad and the second one in Delhi, ANANTA- the enchanng weave was conceived to be held at a regional level. An unique opportunity to showcase strength, solidarity & interdependency of South Asian women through the showcasing of their home made products ranging from apparel home, home furnishing and food items. Visual journey of ANANTA was envisioned in early 2010 series of meengs, core group meengs, focus group management meengs, discussions, design audions, eld visits, model audions for models & technical trainings have made this dream a reality today. In the next few pages you will witness the visual journey of ANANTA- the enchanng weave. When I went to Sabah I felt it was a family working together. It was so good to see that these girls actually had a drive to come out of their houses and do something of their choice. So it defi nitely feels great to be a part of such Fashion Shows as ANANTA. But this event is something diff erent and I feel lucky to be here.

Well, I am so quite excited about it, I think it is unique concept of ge ng people from diff erent walks of life to come and model, dress showcasing. That means it has, it is just not looking nice. It has weight into it. People are a racted towards coming and either way par cipa ng in it. So, it is just not a pre y thing but it has a meaning behind it, that’s why so many diff erent women are interested to come and model for it.

The event is a strategy to market SABAH through ANANTA in which hosts of celebri es, prominent designers, ar st photo journalists, key media, socialist from diff erent walks of life, key government, live agencies & SAARC Secretariat who were brough uder one umbrella who extended their contribu ons voluntarily.

ANANTA the enchanti ng weave is a pioneering event being organized by SABAH Nepal in Kathmandu. Through the event, SABAH Nepal hopes to interlace innovati on and creati vity and simultaneously showcase the strength, spirit and solidarity of south asian women. It hopes to exhibit products made by SABAH members from all the eight countries of the region. It’s fashion show for a cause where the producer themselves, models, celebriti es will walk the ramp to showcase their products made by HBW.

The Curtain Raiser was organized on 25th August, 2011 amidst a special functi on which was graced by the SAARC Secretary General Her Excellency UZ Fathimath Dhiyana Saeed who also wished SABAH all the success for hosti ng ANANTA. The Curtain Raiser was held amongst prominent dignitaries Specially Ms. Chadani Joshi, the enforcer of HNSA followed by Ms. Reena Nanabaty, the Chair of SEWA/TFC, Mr. Karma the CEO of SDF who also spoke and blessed the forum. The main highlight of the event was enacted by Mr. Zitu Nepal and Sabita Gurung who enlivened the audience through an ‘one-act-play’ conveying the message of the HBW through SABAH’s perspecti ve.

The event was made more glamorous through the gracious presence of celebriti es specially Ms. Manisha Koirala and Ani Dolma Chiyang, Ms. Sadicha Shrestha, Ms. Samyukta Timilsina, Ms. Sahana Bajracharya. The Event was also graced by Honorable Secretary of Finance Mr. Krishna Hari Banskota.

The Intrinsic objecti ve of the Curtain Raiser was to apprise the audience regarding the forthcoming mega event ANANTA. It was more or less informati on sharing of the acti viti es, programme and modus operandi scheduled for ANANTA on Oct 21-23, 2011

The event was fi lled with a large conti ngent of Media personaliti es and Members of the press. The event concluded with an extensive interacti on with the Pres.

I fell honored to be a part of Sabah Nepal ANANTA the exchang-ing wear. There is no short of celebri es but out of all I feel blessed to be here today. Being a part of such a great event in this young age makes me feel proud of myself. Well the other fashion shows are just fashion shows whereas this as we all know is a fashion show for cause. It has a social message with it. We defi nitely feel much bett er when we are a part of such shows which has a good cause att ached to it.

It is been wonderful working with Sabah Nepal. When Shris approached me earlier I was reluctant, because we don’t generally par cipate in a fashion shows. But when she explained me how ANANTA was going to be like, I was impressed so I said yes I am going to do it. I am going to go to the grass root level and help them in anyways I could.
