The Memories of being a studentIt was the time when we were the students,The time of studies and madness,Where the lectures, friends & H block were the life.

Thoughts came back with memories in turn,They sink my heart with life in turn,When we hugged each other, after long time, We cherished the happy highs and late night dine, The sight might have given others the heart burn But contented we were, we none with convince.

We all lived through the mid lecture breaks, To those unending gossips and watching people around.

You all have given me the best moments of life between those changing periods and exam breaks.

All turned into professionalsAll have achieved lot in their lifeBut we all have one thing in commonMemories of being a student of AITT.

Today we all met after so longAnd here we are at the alumni meetLet’s retreat for the memories of being a student.

    It is said don't expect,

The way it comes simply accept.

He is sitting above watching us all,

Have faith he will never make us fall...

    He might be late,

But he will surely change your fate.

For now he might be busy,

    But he will surely see.

    Have faith, stand straight,

    Never be afraid.

    Do your deed, expect least,

    Hard times you will beat.

    And then you will know,

    You were not alone.

When you were struggling with your pain,

He was standing beside you like a silent saint...

    Believe in him,

When the light of your life is dim.

Because for now he might be busy,

    But he will surely see...

    16 17

Come on, walk a step or two.

    And just accompany me,

Shut the doors for a while,

And I shall speak to thee.

I need not a heaven from you

Nor tons and tons of silver.

I just want; a frown to leave

And a smile that lasts forever.

Its thorns and thorns that all you see

    But here I say again

That when a sunny day turns gloomy….

    It signifies the rain!!

    Come, come with me

Now that the season is green

And you will feel good weather….

    Just smile at life

It will reflect the same, gleefully to you

And that’s how you will feel better!!

"Knowledge is the light that education lives to ignite.

Every soul has a purity of infinity, so I was told.

Running after this light, I stumbled when it came upon me to shine.

This stumbling shook up the inner rumblings.

Not in the limelight but in my own time found my colors, just right!

So gathered from believing I too could, today I am telling you all should.

Be your own time that is your path you seek as your glory live life a little bright.

Don't grow up, grow within, if you can't laugh at yourself and dance anywhere there is no fun!

Be the sunshine for others and the joy of being you will herald a new turn.

For what burns within is infinity trying to take a sneak peek for it is My turn!"

The trip to Nepal was organized as part of a project – Aftershock Nepal, by the Focus Nepal which was a joint collaboration project of Amity University Noida, Bournemouth University U.K, Kathmandu University Nepal & Tribhuvan University Nepal. This one year project endeavored to change the manner in which disaster reporting is carried out, principally in light of the reports that followed the Nepal Earthquakes, of April and May 2015. The stories focused more on the destruction that the disaster ushered in. Wherein, the human interest and survival stories were less in focus. Against this backdrop, student reporters from 5 different universities – Bournemouth University (BU), UK, Amity University (AUUP), Noida, Symbiosis University (SU), Pune, Kathmandu University (KU), Kathmandu, and Tribhuvan University (TU), Kathmandu – were placed around Nepal to bring out stories of a different nature. We, were a 6 (six) member team from AUUP stationed at Kathmandu, Sankhu, Harisiddhi, Pokahara etc. This opportunity was an eye-opener for us; we learnt the nuances of disaster reporting and were able to connect with the people. This trip was a once in a lifetime opportunity where we had close view of how life comes to a halt post a disaster and how compassion is key in such situations.

We would like to share some of the human stories that we covered during the trip:

    1) Children of Nepal, where we visited a school in Kathmandu and spoke to a mathematics professor. We were informed about efforts that were undertaken to make school children aware of safety measures during an earthquake and how they want to 'refresh' their children's' memories from the sadness of the event.

    2) Photo feature on Sankhu – We created a picture-story to showcase what we saw in Sankhu - one of the worst affected districts during the Nepal earthquake.

    3) Forty years in a flash – We learnt about the story of how an elderly man aged 61, rescued his 40 year old wife from the debris of his home in Sankhu.

    4) The oldest school hit by quake - An interview with the mathematics teacher who taught in Sanskrit mahavidyalaya said that they were lucky enough that the earth quake didn't come on a working day, the quake hit the place on a Saturday so none of the students and teachers were injured. Though 25 of their students did not come back to school after the quake; he told us that because after the quake the

When everything in life was going at a smooth pace,

Just to prove that life is not so simple, I came across a new face.

She had attitude but never hesitated to be kind,

Ignoring some chapters which she always wanted to rewind.

She was simple with qualities never defined,

With hopes in her eyes and fear in her mind.

I looked into the eyes and they were ready to express,

Perhaps the feelings she never wanted to suppress.

It was difficult for me to accept this destination,

As it was surrounded by numerous limitation.

But my heart dominated over mind once again,

And the feeling of purity didn't allow me to bargain.

We decided and moved together with endless smiles,

And before we could decipher the distance, it was already in miles.

Life moved faster, faster as if it's never gonna fail,

Till the time we realized, it was nothing but a fairy tale.

I thought of holding the time, the moment, the feelings...one after another,

But she had already promised someone, to be there forever.

She cried for him and he was there,

I cried for her and she was nowhere.

I thought of moving away but was always reminded of her greatness and cuteness,

And for the feelings of my heart, I left the tables, chairs, coffee mugs to witness.

She moved away convincing me not to miss,

But I could not get away with the tight hugs and kiss.

With every piece of broken heart and crying eyes

    I asked myself,

Why didn't I die before she said bye

Why didn't I die before she said bye!!

government has declared the school insecure so the classes were being conducted in temporary settlement from 6 to 12 for Bhanu mahavidyalaya and 12 to 6 for Sanskrit mahavidyalaya the students are so passionate to study they came to the school at 5 in the morning.

    5) Nepal got covered on international front: We interviewed a shopkeeper in Hattiban locality of Kathmandu though he didn't face any casualty due to the quake but when asked about his view on the media coverage done internationally of Nepal earth quake he made a statement “Nepal at least now will be recognized as a separate country as before in countries like Russia or other western countries they thought Nepal to be a part of India now at least I will be considered a Nepalese and I will be proud of that.”

    6) Women Skills in Pokhara - The story of an NGO whose objective has been to help women who primarily depend on the sale of handicrafts for their livelihood. The NGO takes the responsibility of selling the goods and seeing that the proceeds go to where they are due. The program is benefitting more than 400 women. The quake has stemmed the flow of tourists and business has slowed, but they were positive that the worst is over.
