A Look Ahead NCCC Southwest Region

With the implementation of FEMA Corps comes the expansion of our staff to support this new track. We anticipate growing from 21 positions to 34 positions and have already completed office renovations to house all these new staff members.

The Southwest Region values its established relationships with project sponsors, recruitment partners, alumni, and other friends of the program. We look forward to exploring ways to further strengthen these moving forward in 2013.

Strengthening Existing Partnerships

The Southwest NCCC Region welcomes FEMA Corps to the Denver campus in 2013; it began in Fall 2012 for the Vinton and Vicksburg campuses. The FEMA Corps track of NCCC will double the size of the program nationally. We welcomed 24 Team Leaders on January 14th and expect more than 150 Corps Members to arrive on February 11th to work with FEMA on disaster recovery, response, and mitigation. “We’re looking for a healthy mix of returning project sponsors and new opportunities to serve. “ -Region Dir. Ken Goodson

In 2013, we hope to engage alumni in our region through recruitment efforts, volunteering with teams, generating potential project ideas, and general outreach. If you would like to get involved, contact Heather Dirck at [email protected]. Corps
