Is a Support & Discussion Group Right For You?

“I found out I am not alone in this journey. There are others walking beside me, struggling. Before, I felt very much alone. “

“You will hear great ideas and tips on how to handle difficult situtations or behaviors.”

“You will learn from others about the many different community resources that can help you.”

Attendee Testimonials

You Are Not AloneWhen one has Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia, many family members take on the challenge - and at times, overwhelming - task of caregiving, and to much stress may be harmful to the caregiver.

Support and Discussion Groups are designed to provide emotional, educational and social support for caregivers through regularly scheduled meetings. They help develop coping methods and encourage caregivers to maintain their personal, physical and emotional health, as well as optimally care for the person with dementia.

Always call the support and discussion group leader to make sure there has not been a change in the group schedule, i.e. holiday, weather, etc.

If you have any questions about the Alzheimer’s San Diego Support & Discussion Groups or general questions, do not hesitate to contact:

Rebecca De Campos, MSW, Family Services Coordinator : 858.966.3303 or [email protected]

“You can say things in the group you couldn’t say to people who are not or have not gone through this. They understand and can usually relate.”
