Aluminium Welding
MIG
Stands for Metal Inert Gas welding Originally developed for welding
aluminium and non-ferrous materials The wire feed unit supplies the
electrode/additive to the work, driving it through the conduit and on to the contact tip
Protective gas used in the welding process is inert, such as argon or helium
Welding pistol
Aluminium
Aluminum is relatively soft, durable, ductile and light weight metal
Because of the face-centered cubic structure of aluminum it is very resilient in all temperatures
Aluminum has excellent formability both hot and cold
Aluminium has a strong tendency to form an oxidized coating
Aluminium Welding
The use of solventic flux and the usage of protective gas in the welding of aluminum is a must
The aluminium requires preheating The pistol must be kept in a 10-15 degree
pushing angle Keep the pistol head at a 1/3 inch
distance from the object you are welding
Vertical fillet weld & Vertical fillet weld and open square preparation weld
