Since the launch of Ally Capellino in 1980 Ally’s discerning

and faithful customers have returned for her covetable

designs – valuing their integrity, understatement

and relaxed modernity.

Now, her eponymous store and studio are based in Shored-

itch, East London, one of the city’s most creative and diverse

hubs. Customers share in her witty approach to design and

come from all walks of life.

Orange, Dark brown, Blue check

Artists Margaret Kilgallen and Bob and Roberta Smith,

Circus graphics, Donkey Jackets and Kurdish slippers have

all influenced this AW10 collection of confidently coloured

and boldly conceived bags. Black is used for trims and

colours are strongly contrasting like drop shadows or

painted graffiti outlines.

Harris Tweed and woven check waxed cotton add texture

alongside veg-tan leathers and coated canvasses. Urban

shade of orange, brick red and yellow hark back to the graf-

fiti influences. The new emerging classics are the rucksacks

and duffle-bags for men and the bucket shape for women,

reworked in classic utilitarian British waxed cotton.
