All Saints High School Opening Fall of 2018 All Saints will provide students a well-rounded, faith-based education in an inclusive and nurturing community. Developing core skills

Catholic education includes core-curriculum required by Alberta Education and optional and extracurricular programs. All programs are taught through the lens of Catholic values. Students will have opportunities to grow their faith through sacraments, relationships and service learning. All Saint’s students will develop eight core competencies.

ProgramsAll Saints will o�er diverse programs to meet students’ needs, including:

• Alberta Education: all programs mandated to achieve an Alberta High School Diploma.• Advanced Placement: students can take university-level classes based on their interests and

prerequisite grades. Boundaries extend to students who live south of Fish Creek and west of the Bow River.

• Extended French: students entering Grade 10 who’ve completed the Early or Late French Immersion Program in Grade 9 can take French Language Arts, Études Sociales and Mathématiques. Boundaries extend to students who live south of Fish Creek and west of the Bow River.

• Hockey Canada Skills Academy: Hockey Canada and CCSD o�er hockey, �tness and leadership and team skills during the day. Certi�ed teachers with extensive hockey backgrounds, Hockey Canada training and support, run on-and-o� ice training.

• Complementary programs: includes Fine Arts (Instrumental Music, Choir, Drama and Dance); Culinary Arts; Mechanics; Cosmetology; Construction Technology; and Sports Medicine.

• CTS courses: programs include Business Administration; Finance; Information Technology; Health Recreation and Human Services; Media Design and Communication Arts; Natural Resources and Trades; and Manufacturing and Transportation.

Co-curricular and Extracurricular ProgramsIt is paramount to engage students inside and outside the classroom through a wide range of enhanced student opportunities. We o�er a variety of supplementary courses, options, programs and services in students’ �elds of interests in collaboration with our many community partners. The Legends will be taking to the �eld, courts and stages in the fall of 2018.

We are All Saints. We are Legends! Saints are remarkable people who became legendary for their words and actions. We celebrate saints because they were defenders of our faith—often at the cost of their lives. All Saints will examine these legendary saints to help students’ develop outstanding characters and succeed.

High school designHigh school Re-Design is an Alberta Education initiative that focuses on three critical outcomes. All Saints is working to achieve the outcomes and improve program design as outlined below.

1. Engaged students:• Put students �rst and at the centre of our

learning community • Allow students to drive their education• Create opportunities for community partnerships.

2. High levels of achievement:• Create opportunities for students to access �exible learning

opportunities during the instructional day • O�er tutorials and additional classes on speci�c topics.

3. Quality teaching:• Ensure the Teacher Advisor Program structure e�ectively develops

meaning relationships between students and teachers • O�er additional supports in core classes and options • O�er missed assessments in the learning centre • O�er opportunities for re-assessment.
