About CIPET

A Computer Based Test (CBT) for Admission to Diploma,Post Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma Courses of

CIPET for the Academic Year 2020-21.

Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET) - an ISO 9001:2015 QMS, ISO 17025, ISO 17020 accredited premier Institute under the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India established in 1968 with an objective to develop human resources for the benefits of Plastics and allied Industries. Today CIPET has Pan India presence and operate on hub and spokes model with 35 locations to cater more effectively to the need for skilled manpower of Plastics industries. All these centres are equipped with the state-of-the-art technical infrastructure in the areas of Design, CAD/CAM/CAE, Tooling, Plastics Processing, Testing and Quality Assurance. The course syllabi as well as curriculum for Diploma programmes are same across CIPET Centres, and award of Diploma to students is being carried out centrally by Directorate of Academics, CIPET Head Office, Chennai.

CIPET offers training to Indian and International students for the growth of Plastics and allied industry in India and abroad. Admissions to all Diploma, Post Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma Courses of CIPET for the Academic Year 2020-21, at its campuses across India will be made on the basis of Computer based Test conducted by CIPET. This test will be referred to as ‘CIPET Joint Entrance Exam– 2020’, in short as CIPET JEE 2020 hereafter in this document.



Admission Regulations for CIPET Diploma Programs1. For all Post Graduate Diploma, Post Diploma & Diploma courses, selection will be

based on the performance in the CIPET JEE 2020, which will be conducted on 31st May 2020.

2. CIPET follows reservation for SC/ST, OBC (NCL), Economically Weaker Section candidates and physically challenged (handicapped) candidates as per Govt. of India norms.

3. In the case of PGD-PPT course, 2 years Degree course (10+2+2) will not be considered as appropriate entry qualification and hence such candidates need not apply.

4. Candidates appearing for the entry qualification examination are also eligible to apply. Their admission is subject to successful passing of the entry qualifications examination. Eight weeks’ time after JEE will be given for submission of entry qualification documents failing which the admission is liable to be cancelled.

5. Limited hostel accommodation is available. Allotment of hostel accommodation is on need basis and availability. However, CIPET facilitates all the admitted students in getting accommodation.

6. No request for change of centre allotted for admission will be entertained during the course of study.

7. Provisional selection will be cancelled for the candidate not accepting the allotment of admission on or before the date specified in the Admission/Counseling Call letter and the waitlist will be operated to fill the vacancies.

1. The candidates selected for admission must deposit the tuition and other fees on or before the specified date stipulated in Admission/ Counseling call letter.

2. Second semester onwards fees are to be paid within 2 weeks from the date of commencement of each semester.

3. The selected candidates have to sign on Code of Conduct at the time of admission.

4. The selected candidates have to submit original certificates of entry qualification, date of birth, community certificate and reservation quota certificate, if applicable, at the time of admission for verification.

5. Practical training will be provided on industry size machinery in shifts depending on the exigencies. The students have to attend shifts on rotation basis in an industrial type environment.

6. Institute has the right to expel any student from the course on the grounds of communicable disease/unsatisfactory performance / lack of attendance / misconduct / ragging / unlawful activities.

7. Ragging is strictly prohibited as per Supreme Court order on writ petition no. (c) 656/1998. Ragging in any form will lead to expulsion of students from the institute and hostel.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING UPTHE APPLICATION FORM (CBT-JEE, 2020-21)

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

The tests will be “Computer Based Test” (CBT). CBT means the candidate sits in front of a computer and the questions are presented on the computer monitor and the candidate answers the questions on the computer through the use of keyboard or mouse. Each computer is connected to a server, which prepares the question set and delivers it to the candidate on the computer.

The question is generated from a question bank and different candidates will get different question sets. An expert committee will ensure that the question sets are of comparable difficulty level, content, question type etc. In this matter, the decision of the expert committee will be final and binding on the candidate.

The test assumes that the candidate has basic familiarity with computers, keyboard and mouse operation. It is the responsibility of the candidate to acquire these skills before appearing in the test and the Institute cannot take responsibility for the same.

The Institute is planning to operate test centers in different cities. The final list of centers and actual days of operation will be announced to candidates through the CIPET admission website https://eadmission.cipet.gov.in/. The Institute cannot guarantee that test centers will be setup in all cities. Further, the Institute reserves the right to cancel any test center if no sufficient number of candidates opted for the Centre.

CIPET JEE 2020-21 will be conducted on 31st May 2020.

The final list of the centers with complete contact details will be announced on CIPET admission website https://eadmission.cipet.gov.in after all the applications are received.

The exam will be conducted in 1/2/3/4 slots /session.

The candidate must fully obey the rules of the test centers; otherwise he / she will be automatically debarred from the test.



In order to apply for appearing in CIPET JEE-2020-21, candidates have to apply for admission to CIPET as per the ‘STEPS TO APPLY ONLINE’ discussed afterwards. The completed online application form with the required application fee has to be submitted on CIPET admission website https://eadmission.cipet.gov.in on or before 22nd May 2020.

All information and communications regarding CIPET JEE-2020 and Admission to CIPET are made available to the registered candidates on the CIPET admission website https://eadmission.cipet.gov.in

Candidates are advised to view the website https://eadmission.cipet.gov.in regularly for all related information on CIPET and on admissions to CIPET.

In all matters in the conduct of CIPET JEE-2020, the decision of CIPET will be final.

All disputes pertaining to CIPET JEE-2020 shall fall within the jurisdiction of Chennai only.

OBC(NCL)* (Annual Income below Rs.6lakhs) *NCL–Non-Creamy Layer candidates whose annual parental income is less than Rs. 6Lakhs.



STEPS TO APPLY ONLINE

Before filling up the application form, the candidate should have scanned images of his/her Colored photograph, Full signature Other documents (If applicable).

These scanned images are to be uploaded during the submission of application form.

The photograph should be without cap or sunglasses. Spectacles are allowed. Polaroid photos are not acceptable. Candidates with unclear photograph are likely to be rejected.

Method of Submission of Application Form: The candidate has to visit website https://eadmission.cipet.gov.in/

Then he/she has to go to the link “CIPET announces Admission of Diploma Program through Computer Based Test (CBT) JEE 2020-21”.

The candidate/parent has to read carefully the information brochure and instructions to fill the online Application Form for CIPET JEE 2020-21 available on the web page.

Once the candidate clicks “CIPET announces Admission of Diploma Program through Computer Based Test (CBT) JEE 2020-21”, the process of filling up of Application Form starts.

STEP-I: (Registration)

By Clicking on Registration, a registration Form will display.

Candidate has to fill up all the fields like Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, email id carefully, as once registered it cannot be edited.

Then click on “Register Now”. A confirmation message will display on the screen about the successful registration and the same also will be sent to candidate’s corresponding email Id.

Please remember your mobile number which is your effective user id and your date of birth is your effective password for login.

Candidate registration is complete now.

STEP-2: (Log In)

Then the candidate has to click on “ Login ” button for filling up details.

Enter your registered Mobile Number, Date of Birth in the field provided. After Login a screen with all the four course details will appear.



STEP-5: (Application fee and Payment)

Choose the correct course among the four available options. You are allowed to register in one application format a time. Click on the program which you wish to apply for.

Note: A candidate can apply for multiple courses as per his/ her eligibility. However, he has to choose another program from the choice of programs available, to apply for the same and pay separately for each application.

For example:- If you are interested for “Diploma in Plastics Mould Technology”, then you have to click on it and then click on “Apply Now” button.

A detailed application form will appear, and you have to fill up all the mandatory fields given there.

Before filling up, you have to check whether your choice of program is displaying in the first row of the application or not.

Then he/she has to fill up all details like Personal details, Parents/Guardian details, Communication Address, Permanent address, Academic Details etc.

Finally the candidate has to give a declaration to complete the application form.

STEP-4: (Document uploads)

Candidate has to upload his / herself passport size colour photo (File-Type:jpg, jpeg, png,) and self signature (File-Type:jpg, jpeg, png,).

The photograph should be without cap or goggles. Spectacles are allowed. Polaroid photos are not acceptable. Candidates with unclear photograph are liable to be rejected.

Preview the uploaded documents and check whether it is correctly uploaded or not.

Then click on “Save & Next“ button to go for next part of the application form that is Payment.

STEP 6: (Print Confirmation Page) Once the payment is confirmed, the candidate can take printout of Confirmation Page

anytime by logging into his/her account.

Note: Please note that the applicant’s name, parent’s name(s), and date of birth should exactly be the same as mentioned in the High School or his/her first Board certificate. Any deviations, whenever discovered, may lead to cancellation of the applicant’s candidature.

The candidate’s application form must be completed in all aspects before submitting the online application form. Incomplete application will summarily be rejected without any notice.

Options filled by the candidate in the application form cannot be changed at a later stage under any circumstances.

Online Click on “Proceed for Online Payment” shown in the screen. Please select the payment gateway provider and click “Pay Now” to proceed for online

payment. You can pay the amount using debit card/netbanking/credit card. After successful submission of fee, the candidate can take printout of Confirmation Page

then and there itself or later on anytime by logging into his/her account.

Offline(a) Remittance of online application fee through Bank: The candidate needs to deposit the application fee through a Challan in any bank in the

account mentioned below. In case of payment through Challan, Bank transaction charges will be extra as applicable over and above the cost of application to be paid by the candidate.

If the candidate making the payment less than the cost of application as mentioned above or adjusting the bank transaction charges within the application cost, his/her application will not be considered for further process.

(b) Remittance of online application fee at any CIPET Centres: Candidate can also make the application fee at any CIPET Centre. Receipt will be issued

by the Centre.
