Profile Alex Lefaivre is a bass player, composer, producer and label owner based out of Montreal. Career BASS PLAYER, COMPOSER, CO-LEADER AT PARC X TRIO — 2007-PRESENT Parc X Trio is a contemporary instrumental jazz trio based out of Montreal, Canada. They have released 6 albums and EPs since 2009, with a 7th scheduled for release in April 2017 through Benelux’s Challenge Records International. They have completed their fifth tour of Europe in April 2016 as well as showcasing at JazzAHEAD! for the second consecutive year. In 2015, they performed at the Toronto International Jazz Festival, Beaches Jazz Festival, the Wreckhouse Jazz and Blues Festival and the Conseil des Arts de Montréal en Tournée. They won the TD Grand Prize for Jazz at the 2010 edition of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal and continue to tour regularly throughout Canada, the USA and Europe. MUSIC TEACHER — 2004-PRESENT Currently teaches electric bass in Montreal at Collège Reine-Marie (since September 2015) and at l’Externat Mont-Jésus-Marie (since 2013) as well as privately. Alex has been teaching since 2007 at various locations such as L’École de Musique Coda (2007-2009), The Montreal Academy of Music (2009), La Coopérative Des Professeurs De Musique De Montréal (2010-2012) and at Le Centre Père- Marquette (2012-2013).
