About AIESECThe vision of AIESEC is peace and the fulfilment of humankind’s potential.

It is every young person’s responsibility to take a positive role shaping the future of our planet. We believe

every young person deserves the chance, and tools, to fulfil their potential. We provide young people with

self-driven, practical, global experiences. We enable them to see the world, make a real difference and

discover what truly matters to them.

By providing every member of AIESEC a set of core values that we live by everyday. We are able to develop

the leadership potential of young people by engaging them early-on with a values-based environment that

shapes their behaviors. We enable young people to build a strong foundation of core values as they develop

into responsible and entrepreneurial young leaders. Enabling them to be empowered to carry these

AIESEC values throughout their lives in making more responsible decisions that will positively impact the

world.

The six core values are:

Striving for Excellence

We aim to deliver the highest quality performance in everything we do. Through creativity and innovation we

seek to continuously improve.

About AIESECAIESEC in Nigeria

Tasked with leading AIESEC’s 600+ volunteers and full-time staff in achieving its mission across 15 universities.

They are the final decision makers for the entity, directing strategy, operations and act as guardians of the

AIESEC Way throughout the national network.

The team of 6 represents 2 nationalities as AIESEC in Nigeria team 2014-2015. Unlike any other organization

with this scale, AIESEC in Nigeria elects a new National President annually, who then selects a new leadership

team to lead and manage the national network. The ever-evolving dynamic nature of AIESEC enables it to stay

true to the roots of being youth-run for youth since its founding in 1948.

AIESEC experiential leadership developmentThe experiential Leadership develop allows young people to explore and develop their leadership potential

through different programs.

The purpose of this is for a person to develop the leadership we are providing to the world (World citizen,

Self-awareness, Solution-driven, and Empowering others while taking advantage of these intense experiences

AIESEC offers.

In this phase a young person accesses AIESEC’s value-based platform through on of its Experiential Leadership

Development programs. These programs offer:

1. International cross-cultural opportunities

2. Access to a global network

3. Opportunity to make positive societal impact

4. Personal and professional development

These different value propositions are lived and experienced differently through the programs, each of which

offers a different kind of practical experiences. AIESEC offers 4 programs: the Team members program, Team

Leader Program, Global Community Development Program, and Global Internship Program.

It is not important in which order they are taken. A person can take as many as they feel is important for their

leadership development.

AIESEC in Nigeria1415 PurposeThe AIESEC in Nigeria 1415 purpose and the reason we wake up daily to do what we do was determined by

making a projection of the desired future state of the entity, current state of the entity and the behavioral

gaps to get to the future state. The purpose was a common definition of success of the AIESEC in Nigeria 1415

team. From the purpose, we had a team stand which was a summary of the team purpose. Because we have a

network to manage, we practiced the inclusive leadership behavior and culture to both downscale ideas and

receive inputs to the ideas.

AIESEC in Nigeria 1415 happened for these 3 purposes:

AIESEC in Nigeria 1415

Bring back the essence

Scale up for

Impact

Make it Happen

The team stand was: inspired to create value

The team purpose together with the team

stand were filters for decision-making

throughout the term.

Leadership for a better society

Everything we do in AIESEC is aimed at providing leadership

experiences that will make the society and world at large a

better place. The leadership elements we develop in every

young person that goes through an AIESEC experience are:

1. World Citizen: being aware of what is going on in the world

and enjoy taking an active role in contributing towards

making it a better place for everyone

2. Self-awareness: every young person knowing what they are

good at, what is important to them, and what they are

passionate about. Every young person consistently exploring

what they want to achieve in their lives.

3. Empowering Others: being able to communicate ideas

clearly, engage in meaningful conversations with others, and

co-create spaces of collaboration that empower people to

take action

4. Solution-driven: coming up with solutions to challenges.

Flexible and always ready to take necessary risks. Overtime

I fall and always stand back up.

Leadership for a better society

In order to ensure we are providing the right type of leadership to the world, everyone who

goes through an AIESEC experience also goes through two journeys we call the inner and

outer journey of leadership with positive impact as the core.
