DESCRIPTION
Come to realize your project one of the most promising office iniciatives in Brazil and help us to change our social reality!TRANSCRIPT
AIESEC in ABC was created in 2013, as an extension
project of the local committee established at INSPER University, in the
city of São Paulo, that has seen in the region a great opportunity of
making a big social impact.
The establishment of an office in ABC engaged many
students, especially from “Universidade Federal do ABC”, bringing
new opportunities for the development of projects that seek to achieve
many areas of the society, in and out of the University.
AIESEC in ABC have already counted with approximately
fifty-two members influenced by the change and the impact at the most
different areas, disseminating the values of integrity, sustainability,
excellence, diversity, participation and leadership, that for more than
50 years constitutes AIESEC all around the world.
The Greater ABC Region has a
population of approximately 2 500 000 people
and is part of the São Paulo Metropolitan
Region. Its name refers to seven municipalities:
Santo André, São Bernardo do Campo, São
Caetano do Sul, Diadema, Mauá, Ribeiãro Pires
and Rio Grande da Serra.
The ABC region is widely known in
Brazil and abroad because of the great number
of international companies, particularly car
manufacturers, in its area. National media and
organizations consider ABC a powerful
industrial pole, that since 2006, has established
one of the best universities of the country in
technology and innovation, the Universidade
Federal do ABC.
The AIESEC in ABC has two current
projects: the TALK project, for exchange
students who seek interaction with the university
atmosphere, teaching languages for students and
having the opportunity to participate in the day-
to-day life at the Federal University of ABC and
“Gira Mundo” project, in which the exchange
student has the opportunity to bring a new look
and a new vision of the world through volunteer
work in NGOs located in needy regions of the
ABC.
The TALK Project has already been
executed 7 times, received about 28 exchange
students, involved about 25 host families and
gave the opportunity of learning a new language
for about 160 university students.
The Project consists in giving
languages classes for university students at
Universidade Federal do ABC, having the
chance to interact directly with Brazilian culture
and diversity at a receptive atmosphere.
The most important objective of
TALK Project at AIESEC in ABC is to make an
incredible experience that improves the
leadership by teaching and getting in contact
with a hole new perspective.
“With AIESEC in ABC TALK Project I had the chance of
teaching for university students at Universidade Federal do ABC. I
helped 20 individuals to conversate better in other languages and
inturn, they helped me to understand concepts of different culture all
together.
Brazil was a lot of first times for me, my first time giving
languages for students at a university, my first time meeting over 100
individuals from over 30 different countries, my first kayak ride, my
first skydiving experience. But more importantly, Brazil for me was
about self growth, self Discovery, travelling alone, making
conversations, making stronger relationships and dealing with life
issues all by myself.
Brazil is one place I will never forget, simply because of
the amazing people I met and more over far the incredible experience I
shared.”
“The AIESEC project Talk is more than just having
conversation classes in English. It’s an opportunity
to local student to speak with real foreigner, to find
together ways how to improve our language skills
and especially to help each other feel more
comfortable when speaking.
The project helped me a lot in terms of
communication and people skills, but the most
valuable aspect of this is the cultural exchange and
I’m so thankful to all people in Brazil that I had an
opportunity to learn how’s life in Brazil.”

GIRAMUNDO is a Social Project that
consists in giving classes about social
responsibility, sustainability and culture diversity
for children, teenagers and adults at
underprivileged areas at ABC region.
The Exchange students have the
opportunity of develop themselves and achieve
leadership while they work at NGO’s.
At the same time, they have the
opportunity of bringing their own worldwide
vision for the needy people, giving for them the
chance of getting in touch with a new culture and
developing themselves with the support of the
Exchange students and the GIRAMUNDO team.
“I've always dreamt about exploring and seeing different people from all
over the world. What always attracted me was Latin America and specially Brazil,
because it's really far from my country and I've always been fascinated by this great
country and its culture. Apart from having the best football players, best dancers,
delicious coffee and beautiful natural areas the country itself makes you feel happy
and alive.
When I started working at the school, the students made me feel like
a star and they were absolutely incredible. I can't put into words the feeling I had

I just want to say that the amount of love that everybody showed
me there can't be described. This experience really made me a better man and
without all the people that I met there I wouldn't have had the passion to
reach out and help other people find their purpose in life and achieve their
goals. I'm very grateful for all these people and I will never forget them.
It was a pleasure having them as the highlight of one of the
greatest experiences ever and I will always cherish the moments we spent
together.”
because I've never felt like this before. These students along with the people who worked there as well as everybody from AIESEC became my
new family. We saw each other daily, communicated, had fun and learned.
“Last summer I traveled to Brazil, Santo André, to work as volunteer in
a project named Gira Mundo. In this Project I was working in an NGO, where I
taught Spanish, leadership and cultural development to underprivileged children.
I never thought that I could become attached to all children and could
learn so much from them. Indeed, this experience totally changed my life, helped
me to appreciate and be grateful for all that I have. It also allowed me to know a
part of me that did not know, it made me see that I can face problems and solve
them, also that I can interact with people from all over the world, practice and learn
new languages and especially to realize that I have everything to create a social
impact over the world.
With this experience I can say I know more about myself, enjoyed amazing places,
amazing people, I have a new family and especially I created a social impact that
changed the way and the life of certain kids while they changed mine.
I can truly say that my life has changed after this exchange; Brazil and
AIESEC ABC changed me completely. Sometimes we need to travel to places we
never thought of traveling to, make friends with strangers we never thought would
mean so much to us, and most of all, help people who really need a little bit of time
from us... we never know how much it means to them. It does not matter where we
help as long as we make a difference somewhere in the world.”
