You’re Invited! Hi Neighbors, I’m Doug Young, from 987 Solana Ct, at the end of the cul-de-sac. We’re going to be hosting a “house concert” in our home this coming Sunday, and we’d like to invite you to attend. What’s a house concert? It’s just what it sounds like, a musical concert held in a house. It’s the way music was shared long ago, when traveling musicians would stay in a patron’s home and perform for the family and guests in a comfortable environment. Our guest performer is Mark Hanson, an instrumental acoustic guitarist from Portland who is known around the world for his music. Some of you know that I also play guitar, and for this concert, Mark and I will play a first set together, then after a break for light refreshments, Mark will play a second set of tunes alone. In addition to the audience in our living room, we will be webcasting the first set, so we’ll be joined by viewers from all over the world. Both Mark and I play “fingerstyle guitar” – instrumental music that combines elements of classical guitar with more contemporary music. We’ll be un-amplified, so you can hear the natural sound of acoustic guitars in a living room -the way they were meant to be heard! If you’d like to attend, please call Doug or Teri at 650-941-1288 or email [email protected] to let us know you’re coming. We’ll start webcasting the first set at 3PM sharp, so please come by as early as 2PM for a social hour so we can settle in before show time.
