1. *How To Start In Affiliate Marketing?

To become an affiliate obviously you need to join one of the affiliate networks like Clickbank,

Commission Junction or ShareASale. Joining is free and doesn’t cost you anything. You might also

want to try a Google search for standalone affiliate programs that are not part of any affiliate

network. So e.g. if you are of interest is poker or you’d like to become an affiliate for an online casino

site, just type in “poker affiliate program” or “casino affiliate” or any other subject you are interested

in or would like to promote. Once you find a program you want to join, follow the instruction they

give you and you should be fine. Just remember to enter your real personal details as often times

affiliate commissions come by mail as a check. So make sure you don’t enter any false information

during your signup process.

2. What Products Should I Promote?

There are different indicators and stat tools you may use to find the most profitable and converting

affiliate products. For example in many of the affiliate networks you can find an EPC indicator. EPC

stands for Earnings Per 100 Clicks. It shows the correlation between the number of clicks generated

by the affiliates with the actual payment being received.

EPC is just a computed correlation data to guide affiliates on choosing a program to join as opposed

to actual payment an affiliate is being credited for. You can use EPC data as a hint on which program

you can earn the most.

For Clickbank, on the other hand, the indicator to look for is “gravity” and also “refund rate”. A very

good website allowing for detailed research of Clickbank products is CBengine.com. Here you can

easily search through all the products and group them accordingly.

Page 5: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

In the above example you can see that this product has a huge refund rate, which means over 50% of

people who bought it are not satisfied and return it. So in fact instead of earning $44.36 per sale, on

average you’ll only make $18.92. You might want to steer clear of products like this one. Another

cool information that can be obtained from CBengine is the change in gravity. Gravity essentially

means popularity and shows how well the product sells. Any product having gravity over 10 is good

enough to be considered for promotion. CBengine tells us about the recent changes in gravity. In the

example above we see a downshift by 15.8%. That might mean the product loses its popularity, less

people promote it or basically less people buy it what makes sense since the return rate in this

particular example is off the charts.

Let’s look at another product.

Page 6: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

Affiliates Bible: Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

This is much better. We have a low refund rate, high and ascending gravity and an average of $23 per

sale. This is the kind of product you should definitely go after. What is more it was first seen in Jan

2008 so we might assume this is not just a fad and it will not go away that fast so now we can just

focus on promoting it. Ideally you want to promote products that give you on average over $20

commission. Anything less than that I typically disregard, however, if the product converts

exceptionally well, sometimes it might also be worthwhile to focus on lower commission products as

well.

3. What Tools Do I Need?

Regardless of anything you have heard before you DO NOT NEED A LIST to be successful marketer.

Let me say that again… YOU DO NOT NEED A HUGE, BULKY EMAIL LIST WITH THOUSANDS OF NAMES

ON IT to successfully promote affiliate products. I mean don’t get me wrong, I’m not writing it off

completely, I’m just trying to tell you that the money is NOT “ONLY in the list” as a lot of gurus say.

You may still bring in a decent amount of cash without having a single subscriber on your list that

don’t even have to exist. Excited? Well, I’m going to go even further and tell you that you can do it

without even having a website. You will need a domain though.

However, I don’t want to focus on affiliate programs that offer you a free website to promote. In

other words they build a website for you so you don’t have to worry about anything but optimizing it

for the search engines. There are programs like this but I’m not going to discuss them here.

Page 7: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

What I want to tell you about, and what you should be interested in is a way of how to build a

website that will rank well in the search engines allowing you to get a lot of traffic with minimum

effort and without any real knowledge of site building or HTML whatsoever.

All you need is a hosting account, domain, Wordpress, decent theme and a couple of plugins. These

are all free apart from the hosting account and a domain for which you’ll have to cough up about $10

annually. That’s it! I will discuss these in more detail in the following chapters.

4. *What Kind Of Website Do I Need To Be AnAffiliate?

WORDPRESS! It is essential if you ever plan on to be successful internet marketer. In fact to achieve

this goal you need an army of websites… but let’s take it one step at a time. Once you choose a

product you want to promote you need to create a unique content for your website and you need to

put it up in the form of blog posts. Four to six posts is usually enough to rank well in the search

engines if you follow my instructions closely. Within these posts you will of course place your affiliate

links to the products you promote or even write the review giving your opinion about how good or

bad a certain product is. A lot of marketers make a mistake of writing only about the positive aspects

of the products in their reviews. You should always be as objective as possible regardless of your

bias. Trust me it does pay off.

5. How Do I Get Content For My Affiliate Website?

Do not worry in advance! You do not even need to know English all that well to create a good quality

and compelling content for your website. How is that possible? Well… it is sort of already somewhere

there… you just need to know how to grab it and make it your own and I will show you how to do it.

So let’s say for the purpose of this ebook that you want to promote a dating site so you’ll be looking

for some content connected with dating. Let’s go to EzineArticles.com and do a search for “dating”.

Page 8: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

As you can see there is plethora of content we can use and implement on our website. However to

make this content unique we cannot just copy and paste it, since search engines will not rank us well

and categorize our site as duplicate content. We want to avoid that at all cost. So what needs to be

done is a simple rewrite. You simply take an article and rewrite it sentence for sentence. I know it’s a

pain in the neck but unless you are knowledgeable in the product you’re promoting this is the only

way to come up with a good unique content for your Wordpress site or is it?

Well, not exactly the only way. There is a piece of software you could use, however it’s not free… It

costs about $6.50 a month and it’s simply awesome. It is called TheBestSpinner and it will spin your

articles with a single click of a button. So the whole process of grueling rewriting job that sometimes

even takes hours is simplified to a few clicks of a mouse. Just watch this video where I show you how

the BestSpinner works. The software will save you a mountain of time so you could focus on more

relevant things like optimizing your webpage for search engines but more about that in the following

chapters.

6. How Do I Select A Domain Name For My AffiliateWebsite?

Selecting a domain name actually is not that easy if you want to rank well in Google with little or no

effort. Essentially what you need to do is a bit of keyword research using the almighty Google

Keyword Tool. Let us continue with the dating niche example.

So as you can see I have entered dating as our main keyword, selected all locations, language English

and devices: desktops and laptops. Another very important thing is to deselect “Broad” and select

“Phrase” option on the left. I won’t go into details here but essentially this will give more reliable

results and in the end this is something we’re after.

Having done that and pressing “search” button we are given a list of results. What interests us most

is the “global monthly searches” column. Obviously ranking for a keyword that gets searched over

80,000,000 times a month is impossible as there are too many results in Google for that particular

keyword of phrase. What we want here is apply a filter to show us results with global monthly

searches of 5000 and less.

So with application of the filter we come up with this substantial list of keywords:

Page 10: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

Page 11: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

These are the keywords we need to go after when selecting our domain name. All we need to do

now is simply find a keyword phrase that does not have too many results in Google but still gets

searched a fair amount of times. So let’s see here. If I take a phrase like "find friends online" this is

what Google comes up with:

5,840,000 websites having the term “find friends online” in their heading. That is way too many for

us to rank well. It would probably take a couple of years of optimization to get to the top ten result

page. Let’s go back to Google keyword tool and keep looking…

331,000 is much better but still too many. It is a good number if you intend to do some SEO and you

could probably rank well for this term if you optimized your affiliate webpage for it. However, we are

Page 12: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

too lazy at that point and we want maximum results with minimum effort The number 2 record for

this term that I selected in red is exactly what we are aiming for. As you can see the domain name is

the very keyword we typed in Google and the same keyword is in the heading of the website. The

only thing that is missing is the same very keyword phrase in the description. This is the first step to

optimizing your Worpress site for search engines but more about that in the next chapters. Now let

us look at yet another keyword example from the Google keyword tool:

26,800 is a good number of results plus there is no website name that uses that key phrase in the top

results so that’s good. We got a real winner here. All we need to do now is go to GoDaddy.com or

any other domain registrar and find out if we can get a domain exactly like this phrase.

I understand that all of these things might seem a bit overwhelming to you especially if you are

completely new to this subject. I know I was at first as well. To tell you the truth I’m not really a king

of this either. I mean I know my way around it but if you really feel like you’d like to explore this

keyword research thing more G. Brown is the person to go to and Google Sniper 2.0 is the name of

his course. It is a very effective step by step video course on “building affiliate webpages” and George

really breaks it down for you. I highly recommend it since this is what got me started in this business.

7. Which Hosting Account To Choose?

The answer is the cheapest with the most user friendly interface. The one I would recommend is Blue

Host at bluehost.com. It is only like $4 a month plus it uses cPanel which is real easy to navigate and

allows “quick installation” of different scripts including Wordpress. Literally with 2 clicks you get your

Wordpress site up and ready for action.

8. *How Do I Create A Landing Page?

In our case it is in fact not so much of a landing page since we are neither capturing leads nor really

selling anything and our “landing page” will in fact consist of 4-6 blog posts. So first of all, you grab

the content like I showed you before. Then you make it unique either by spinning with

TheBestSpinner or simply rewriting it. Make sure you spread the submission of your posts over a

couple of days. Don’t go posting everything at once. We want to create an illusion of a website that

gets periodically updated and is not build in one day just to be forgotten.

Do not put any affiliate links on your website until you finish posting all articles. We want Google to

index the page without seeing any of the affiliate links initially. Do link to your other posts making

sure you have a fair amount of internal links. Also link to authority sites like Wikipedia, Google,

Yahoo, About, etc. These could be links to search engine results or other articles, services these

portals offer that somehow relate to the subject of your affiliate page. So if we’re set to promote a

dating site we could link to Wikipedia entry about the history of dating or something up that alley.

9. How Do I Structure My Wordpress Posts?

The final post that you will write will be the one on top of the page so essentially it will be the first

thing the visitor to your website will see. The other posts do not count so much content-wise. I mean

they still need to be on the subject and be loaded with keywords, however the last post needs to be

selling the visitor a little bit. So here a good example could be a review of the product you’re

promoting, if it’s a dating site then maybe a list of benefits or tips or other things to consider when

setting up an online dating profile.

First posts we create can be very simple, rewritten from ezines and purely informative. In our last

post we must write something of our own though, preferably a review. However, it can sometimes

pose some problems particularly if we do not own the program or ebook we are promoting. As

always whenever there is a will there is a way and there is a way out of this. The simplest thing to do

is to spy a bit on our competition. Do a Google search for your term and look up other similar

affiliate site and see how they do it. You can also look up a review of the product you’re promoting

and just like before make it unique by simply rewriting it. Simple, isn’t it?

Page 14: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

10. How To Make Your Blog More Appealing To HelpConversions?

First of all, the theme. The simpler the better. Ideally you want a theme with not too big header so

that it doesn’t take ¾ of the fold (area of screen visible right after the page loads). Modest header

and modest everything else, no bells and whistles required. Actually there has been a case study

which stated that the default blue Wordpress theme was actually one of the most effective when it

came to visitors stick rate so don’t go crazy on the graphics. Lemme give you some examples. I went

ahead and searched for some blogs that are worth looking at since they are all affiliate websites

promoting other people’s products, kind of what we’re trying to build here

This is basically what your site should look like. Well, maybe not entirely but there are some good

features here I want to discuss. First and foremost the picture! And I don’t mean the picture of the

product or service you’re promoting. You need a picture of yourself or your brother or your sister,

especially if she is better looking than you. Just kidding. There absolutely has to be a picture either on

the left, although I’m not loving it, or on the right- better. It must be above the fold and below it

Page 15: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

Affiliates Bible: Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

must be a short bio. Kind of like Twitter account. I cannot stress how important this is, particularly if

you have a products review on your website. In today’s age of social media and networking sites,

people are used to and enjoy getting acquainted with new people and they want to know who is

trying to shove that ebook down their throat. Makes sense? Trust me, it does.

So what this lovely lady from Fat Loss 4 Idiots Review site does here is pretty close. I’d change the

picture, shorten the bio and have the aff link less obvious since it literally looks like she is trying to

shove it down my throat. What happens below on this website you can see for yourself here:

fatloss4idiotsreviewz.com. There is quite a number of posts with the aff link straight in your face and

links to three pages in the widget area: about, contact and privacy policy. Believe it or not but these

pages will also influence your Google rank so be absolutely sure to include them. Also if you happen

to be capturing leads and have a sign up form on your website, include “terms of service” page as

well.

Ok. Next example.

That’s better. No overtly visible affiliate links, small header, modest and neat layout so what really

stands out here is the picture of the guy and the product. However no bio and, as it turned out, that

is not a picture of the guy trying to shove things down our throats but some doctor who apparently

wrote an ebook on saving marriage which is not the one featured on the right. When I clicked on the

about page I discovered to my surprise this website belongs to a girl who looks nothing like the guy

on the landing page… well very confusing for me and kind of a turn off. Now I don’t want to buy or

click anything here but get out ASAP. And see the bottom left-hand corner. I hovered my mouse over

the ebooks on the right- it links straight to Clickbank. Bad idea since often times people seeing this

Page 16: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

will not click such links. You need to disguise your aff links to make them more appealing. I will show

you how later on. Now, let’s move on to the final example.

Almost perfect! Apart from the photoshoped picture and lack of affiliate link in the body of the text

above the fold everything seems to be fine. There are even links to authority site I told you about

before. Very important stuff SEO-wise. The site links to ask.com, wikipedia.com and webmd.com. I

also like the fact there is a link to the product below the photoshoped picture. Go and study the site,

it’s at mythedietsolutionprogramreview.com. You should definitely model yours exactly on this one.

11. What WordPress Plugins Should I Use?

Wordpress in itself is loved by search engines, that is why it is an obvious choice for most internet

marketers. However there are a few plugins that can make it really fly and skyrocket your search

engine rank. First one is W3 Total Cache and comes with Wordpress by default. Just make sure it is

turned on and up to date. You can update your plugins as well as Worpress script itself from within

your dashboard with a single mouse click. Another plugin is Google XML Sitemaps. This plugin will

generate a special XML sitemap which will help search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing and Ask.com

to better index your blog. Next comes All in One SEO Pack. This one will help your SEO and allow you

to avoid duplicate indexation in Google. SEO Smart Links very useful for internal linking and last but

Page 17: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

not least is the social media plugin Digg Digg. Among many other things it allows you to insert

Facebook like button which seems to be indispensible these days. So there you go. All of these

plugins can be easily installed from within your Wordpress dashboard. Just do a search for the plugin

names and you should be rockin’! There is one more you can use if you’re using videos on your

Wordpress. It is called FLV Embed and it allows you to create a video map which you can then submit

to Google again for the betterment of your rank :-)

12. How Do I Optimize My Wordpress Affiliate Site ForThe Search Engines?

Let’s go back to our keyword research from before. We want to rank for the keyword phrase “free

friendship sites”. With about 25,000 Google results there is a fair chance of achieving a good rank

just by optimization of your Wordpress site. Let us assume we purchased a domain

FreeFriendshipSites.com. You might ask yourself… well… where is the money in that? I shall tell you

where it is. Lots of friendship or dating sites are actually free to join, however they always have a

paid option that expands your profile and allows additional privileges. These sites often times have

affiliate programs. You join them and… with a website name like this you can create reviews or come

up with other type of content that would promote such sites. Makes sense so far? Good.

Page 18: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

Affiliates Bible: Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

Copyright © 2011-2012 Martin Hosner. All Rights Reserved. Unauthorized duplication or distribution is strictly prohibited.

Go to your “Settings” tab in WP and click on “General”. Here in site title field in our case I’d enter

“Free Friendship Sites Reviews” and then in tagline I’d say “Looking for reliable, free dating or

friendship sites? Read our reviews and find the one for you.”

It is important not to have your exact phrase in the description here but to spread the keywords

throughout. If you push it too much Google will not give you any love and your site will land in its

sandbox far away on the outskirts of the index for many, many months. Obviously we do not want

that. So be sure not to make the description a bunch of keywords but actually make it sound natural

and informative like I showed you. Repeat that step in your All in one SEO plugin configuration if you

got it installed.

Next step in your optimization process is: go back to Google keyword tool, type in your keyword

phrase there and get some more similar keywords relating to your main keyword and shove them in

All in one SEO’s “keyword” field. Do not use more than four keyword phrases including your main

one. You also want to get more keywords from the Google tool and include them in titles and bodies

of your posts. So when you are rewriting articles to create your content, have the keyword list ready

and insert them within the body as often as possible. Just make sure your posts make sense and are

not just a bunch of keywords stuck together.

Set up the three crucial pages in your Wordpress site I told you about before. About me, Contact,

Privacy policy. If you don’t know what to say there, look at the competition and model accordingly.

Use pictures in your blog posts. Use keywords in the picture description fields.

Use videos in some of your blog posts. Embed a video from YouTube with related keywords in the

title. Can be your own, can be someone else’s. If you make your own videos make sure you set up a

separate YouTube account. Put a link to your website in your channel details and also start every

video description you upload with your link like this: http://FreeFriendshipSites.com YouTube will

make it a hyperlink and you might get some additional traffic from there.

After submitting two first posts (remember to spread your submissions) go to RSS aggregator type

site and submit your feed there. It will help to index your URL. The sites are:

Feedage.com

goldenfeed.com

feedcat.net

RSSmountain.com

RSSmicro.com

IceRocket.com

After writing each post make sure you bookmark it in social bookmarking sites such as Delicious,

Digg, Stumbleupon, Tagza, Bukmark, etc. Just do a search in Google for “social bookmarking site”.

Bookmarking your posts is the quickest way to get your posts and page indexed by the search

engines.

Utilize Facebook! Once you set up you Digg Digg plug in, ask your friends on FB to click the like

button. That will give you some links from FB and help your rankings.

When you create your last blog post, check your position in Google. To check if your site is indexed

type in “site: FreeFriendshipSites.com” in Google search field. If your site has been indexed, Google

will come up with results. To check your position simply type in your keyword phrase “free friendship

sites” without the quotes. If you can’t see yourself within the top ten results, look further to see

where exactly you rank.

If after a week your site is indexed but nowhere to be found in Google’s index it is probably bad

news. You’ve made a mistake and Google put your site in its sandbox for a couple of months.

Bummer. You must’ve used inappropriate keyword combination in description or blog title. It might

happen sometimes. Make some changes and be patient. Google will push your site forward but it

might take time.

If you see your site somewhere in the top 20, that’s very good. If you’ve already created all the posts

and your final one is the one you want viewers to see when they enter your site… you can create

some more pages. The drill here is similar when creating posts. Stick some keywords in the page

titles as well as the body of the text. Remember the more unique content you have the better you

look in the eyes of search engines. If you finally rank in the top ten Google search, go back after a

week or two and create another page. Fresh content is always attractive for the search engines so do

not be shy as you can never have too much of it. Just remember to submit your RSS feed once you

update your blog and to bookmark every page and post you create.

Soon I’m going to be releasing an SEO ebook where I will discuss in more detail the strategies and

techniques you can use to help you search engine rankings. So be on a look out for that. Also if you’d

like to substantially improve your rankings, go to SenukeX and watch the free tutorial videos. It is an

13. *How To Blend Your Affiliate Link Website With aDomain?

Obtaining an affiliate link from your favorite affiliate network is a walk in the park. However, it is

usually long, ugly and contains the affiliate network name like Clickbank or ShareASale for example.

The idea is to make it look more appealing and natural and that is exactly what I'm going to show you

here.

Do you remember the example from a couple of chapters back when I was talking about the affiliate

pages and hovered my mouse over the affiliate link on one of these pages? It showed at the bottom

of the browser and it was a direct link to Clickbank. The thing is that often times people seeing that

will not click it. That's just the way it is. Another words the link will not, so to say, convert too well if

that makes any sense. Anyway, our goal here is to make the link look as if it was going to a page or a

folder within our domain as opposed to being and outbound link. This will make it more clickable. To

achieve this goal we need to create a separate file with a bit of HTML code in it and put it on our

server. Now, do not panic, that's not actually complicated at all.

From our previous example let's assume our domain name is http://FreeFriendsWebsites.com. Let's

also assume we want to promote a product called "chubbymates". For that we create an HTML file

called ChubbyMates.html, fill it with code, which I’m going to provide with in a second, and put it

either in the root directory of our domain what will give us this path:

http://FreeFriendsWebsites.com/ChubbyMates.html or create a directory of your choosing and

upload your HTML file in there. That would give us a path like this:

http://FreeFriendsWebsites.com/go/ChubbyMates.html assuming you created directory "go" in the

root folder of your domain.

Here is the code you need to put inside of this file:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

<head>

Page 21: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

Affiliates Bible: Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

Copyright © 2011-2012 Martin Hosner. All Rights Reserved. Unauthorized duplication or distribution is strictly prohibited.

<title>YOUR TITLE HERE*</title>

<meta name="description" content="YOUR DESCRIPTION HERE*">

<meta name="keywords" content="YOUR COMMA SEPARATED KEYWORDS HERE">

<meta name="robots" content="index,follow">

<meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="0; url=YOUR AFFILIATE LINK HERE" />

</head>

*this will be visible in search engines like Google once the file gets indexed!

Or you might want to use that one if you want to cloak your link:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

<head>

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />

<title> YOUR TITLE HERE </title>

<meta name="description" content=" YOUR DESCRIPTION HERE ">

<meta name="keywords" content=" YOUR COMMA SEPARATED KEYWORDS HERE ">

<meta name="robots" content="index,follow">

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf">

</head>

<frameset rows="100%,*" border="0">

<frame src=" YOUR AFFILIATE LINK HERE " frameborder="0" />

<frame frameborder="0" noresize />

</frameset> document.removeEventListener('click, clickHandler, true);

</html>

So strictly for the purpose of this ebook our file for “chubbymates” may look like this:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"

Page 22: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

<head>

<title>Find your chubby mate today</title>

<meta name="description" content="Ever wondered how to connect with other chubby singles?

Look no further! ChubbyMates is the perfect starting place. Set up a free profile today.">

<meta name="keywords" content="chubby mates, chubby friends, chubby singles, chubby dating">

<meta name="robots" content="index,follow">

<meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="0; url=http://chubbymates123.com/?aff=3456" />

Once that file goes live you are all set. Now simply instead of pasting your affiliate link into a blog

post, paste that path to your newly created file. The benefit of this is that it will look like a link to one

of your pages and will seem more natural for the majority of people. It will also look better in the

eyes of search engines. What is more it will be indexed and appear in Google search results. How

cool is that? It is natural you're going to link multiple times to the same product from within your

posts. The trick is to make a separate file for each type of link for the same products. Lemme splain...

Let's say you're linking to "chubbymates" from the widget area, from post and you have a

hyperlinked image. For each of these you create a separate HTML file with different name, different

title, description and keywords but of course the same affiliate link. It's better that way since you're

not spamming your blog with the same link over and over again plus it will be also easier for you to

track these links. I mean collect data like which link is clicked most and which one converts best-

brings you most money but that's a subject for the next chapter.

14. How To Monitor Your Affiliate Links?

If you do a Google search for “affiliate link monitoring software”, you’ll get millions results, literally!

And most of the pages you stumble upon will offer you paid services. You do not need that since

you’re just starting out. Even if you’re not starting out this software I’m about to recommend is

brilliant because it does what it is supposed to do and it’s simple and simplicity together with

efficiency equals greatness.

Page 23: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

The script is called CCount, it’s free and it will not only disguise your affiliate links but also count how

many clicks they receive. So it will NOT tell you which links actually convert best. You’ll have to use

additional tracking codes for your links from Clickbank or ShareASale to monitor that. However, you

will know which links get clicked on the most so you can use that information to make some tweaks

to your site or better place the links next time you build your affiliate blog.

Do look up CCount in Google. It is really easy to install and doesn’t require a database. You can easily

add your links from the admin panel as you can see on the screen above. If you decide to use this

script, you will not have to disguise your affiliate links using HTML files I showed you one chapter

back since CCount will do that for you.

Another easy way of disguising and monitoring the amount of clicks in your affiliate links is the

service bit.ly. It is as easy as setting up a free account and right away you can shorten and monitor

whatever links you wish.

15. How To Choose Your Wordpress Template?

I talk about this briefly in chapter 10. It must be clean, meaning no unnecessary distractions like

flashing banners or big headers with social media widgets like Twitter or Facebook. Neat and clean is

what you’re looking for. There are thousands of free Wordpress themes you may use. Just go here:

http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/ and browse away. As always it is a good idea to spy on your

Page 24: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

competition so type in the keyword phrase you want your site to rank for and look at other people’s

blogs with affiliate links. Remember the one in chapter 10 I told you it was perfect? Well, why not try

and get the same theme for your blog. After all it’s not against the law to use the same theme, is it?

To get the name of the theme go to the website, right mouse click and select “view source”.

Next look for http path leading to /wp-content/themes directory. This is where Worpress stores its

themes and it is always the same directory.

In our case the theme name is “flexsqueeze”. Do a Google search for “flexsqueeze theme” and there

you go. Unfortunately, this is a paid theme, however most of the pages use free themes and you can

easily uncover their names by snooping around the source page code like I showed you.

You may also find a lot of nice free themes at webdesignlessons.com. Just make sure to disable or

remove the big widget under the header as most of these themes have them turned on by default.

16. *How To Post An Audio File Into A Blog Post?

Apart from using the text and video, you might want to use an audio file in your blog posts. Do a

Google search for “audio player for website”. There are 21 different free audio players you can use

and embed on your site here: instantshift.com/2010/02/10/21-free-music-players-for-your-website/

Page 26: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

Experiment with these and see which player blends best with your selected Worpress theme. You

might also choose the audio to start playing automatically once a visitor comes to your webpage.

17. *How To Make An FBML Landing Page?

Sign in to your FB account and go here: facebook.com/pages/create.php

Beware when giving your page a name since once you do this it will be embedded in stone. Try and

make it a friendly SEO term. Remember chapter 6? Find a keyword phrase that is searched a decent

amount of times in Google and doesn’t have that much competition. Use that phrase to name your

site. Facebook.com/yourkeywordphrase – this is how your page will be indexed by Google once it

gets at least 25 fans so it’s very important to make it SEO friendly.

A great advantage of FB pages is that whenever you make an update, it will show up on your fans’

page feed. Also your FB pages will be seen by non-facebook users and quickly indexed by Google and

since we want maximum distribution of our affiliate links, it is simply perfect. You do not need to be

concerned about looking bad if front of your friends as FB pages are 100% anonymous. No one will

ever know you own a particular page unless you admit it.

Do not ignore FB to promote your affiliate Wordpress site or your affiliate links. I’m not going to go

into details of creating an FB page here since there are websites where you can find very informative

tutorials on how to do that that are much better than I will ever create. Just look here:

squidoo.com/facebookpage.

18. How To Promote Launches?

You might have heard of these before. There are even some huge launches out there of products

that never even make it to Clickbank or any other affiliate network. They simply appear, sell out and

that's it. Now why would you want to promote a launch as opposed to a regular product found in an

affiliate network? Well, there are a couple of reasons. First of all, some launches pay a lot of money

in affiliate commissions, the kind of money you will never be offered by affiliate networks. Secondly,

there are contests with prizes. These are additional physical prizes you can win if you can generate a

substantial number of sales. Third reason would be that not that many people are really doing that

so getting a website with a product's name and "review" in it is actually not that difficult. And since a

lot of people will be searching for review of the product that just went live, you have a nice chance of

getting a decent amount of traffic.

The place to look for information about upcoming launches is jvnewswatch.com. First thing you want

to do is look at launches at least 3 weeks away from current date to give yourself a good amount of

time to build your affiliate blog.

Click the "JV Invite" link to see what the product's creator has in store for you. Check whether there

are cash money prizes or any other incentives for you to join as an affiliate. Also apart from the front

end product, you'll learn about upsales and backend offers that will potentially make you even more

money in affiliate commission. If the JV Invite page looks professional enough and provides you with

some big names from internet marketing world who are already onboard promoting this products, it

means it is a legit product and there is a fair chance it will sell well. A perfect opportunity to build our

small blog site around it.

Page 28: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

19. How To Include A Killer Incentive For You AffiliateOffer?

You need a bonus! Preferably an ebook or course that relates to the product you are advertising or

reviewing that you can offer your visitors in return for purchasing your affiliate offer through your

link. Remember the three blogs we reviewed in chapter 10? They had one thing in common- none of

them offered a bonus that would provide additional incentive for people to click those links.

I mean don't get me wrong, not all your affiliate offers will be suitable to be paired with a bonus.

However, if you've created a type of product review blog, a bonus will give you a great boost in sales.

Hell, you might even get a domain name with the word "bonus" in it, as often times people will

search for "product's name bonus" in Google.

How do you actually create your bonus?

You don't need to write anything, although you could go to Wikipedia or eHow, find the content you

need and compile it into an ebook (as long as the license allows you to do that). That's one way to do

this. However, then you're stuck without your bonus product's cover. You absolutely need a nice

looking cover to advertise your bonus in the widget area of your affiliate blog. Here is quite an

inexpensive service you could use for your ecover creation- it will create professionally looking box

shots and ecover graphics in a matter of minutes and it costs like $7 a month or something.

Another solution would be to buy a PLR (private label rights) ebook and rebrand it accordingly. So if

you're promoting "fat loss" products just type in "fat loss plr" or "effective diet plr" or something

along these lines into Google and you should be able to arrive at PLR ebook store. It will cost you

about $5 a book. However, for that kind of money I would suggest joining a PLR ebook club that will

grant you access to thousands of PLR ebooks in hundreds of different niches all at once.

Page 29: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

This is actually a pretty neat offer. That way you can actually come up with a couple of bonuses

leaving your competition far behind.

How do you integrate your bonus offer with your affiliate offer on your blog?

Put the graphics and some brief information about it in your widget area on top position so that it is

displayed above the fold. For the whole bonus offer create a separate blog page, not a post! This is

where you will exactly explain what they have to do to get the bonus. This is the page you will link to

from your widget on the home page. I hope it makes sense.

20. What Else To Consider To Help Your Ranking?

Distribution of your affiliate website’s link is absolutely crucial. After you are done setting up your

affiliate blog, make sure you setup a new YouTube account and post some videos promoting your

blog. It does not have to be fancy. You can have pictures with music or with your voiceover, you can

even read your blog posts and display pictures of the product you’re promoting. Include the link to

your site in your video as well as in the description of the video. If you put the link at the front of the

description, YouTube will hyperlink it.

Also include your link on your channel page in “website” field as well as in “about me “ and

“description”. These are nofollow links but still it’s good to put them there.

Page 30: Affiliates Bible Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

Affiliates Bible: Top Twenty Affiliate Marketing Tips

Post your videos also on DailyMotion, Viddler, Revver, Google Video, Veoh & Yahoo Video. There are

many other video sharing sites but they won’t give you much traffic so you may just as well forget

about them.

In order for your videos to rank well choose low competition, high volume keyword phrases found in

the Google Keyword Tool or go to Wordtracker keyword questions. Type in a keyword phrase related

to the product you’re promoting e.g. “dating rich men”. Wordtracker will give you a list of most

common questions that are asked by people with that phrase in them. Use the ones that get the

highest traffic and use them to name your videos. In your videos try to answer these questions.

There is a big chance you will rank very well for some of these vids, especially if you blast them all

over the net using a service like TubeMogul or TrafficGeyser.

Once your videos are created go to high PR blog sites like Tumblr, Blogger, Webs, or Wordpress and

set up free blogs. Embed your videos on each of these blogs and add some text to the post. You can

use the text from your affiliate blog, just make sure you spin it first with BestSpinner to avoid

duplicate content. You may also write your content from scratch or spin an article from article site

like ezinearticles.com. Once you are done, bookmark and RSS everything like I described in chapter

12. This little operation should give you a nice boost in your affiliate website ranking.

Please bear in mind one thing though. YouTube, after Google, is the second biggest search engine

thus it WILL give you a decent amount of traffic if you play your cards right.
