FOLDING : A HOUSE

Written paper: Detailed and carefully constructed by cognitive thinking.

Plain paper: Industrialize constructed, no details.

Is this how architecture should be constructed?

Can folding be constructlike architecture?

Page 3: Aesthetic Porfolio

detailed side plain side

fold so the detail sidewill subvert the plain side

fold to form a origami house origami house the represent architecture

ARTIST INTERPRETATION OF SPACE

La chambre de Van Gogh à Arles(painting I use in this experiment)

Overlaying the lines to see thedistroted effect of the paint

Usually architecture space is created by structure, however in a painting, space is

created by illusion of drawings. Can it be applied in real a space?

Space form by surface/ structure.

Page 5: Aesthetic Porfolio

the space is not shaped by structure, rather the spaceis shaped by abstract lines than is in the box

organic/ loose space

when tighten up, the line redened the space

SONG INTERPRETATION

The music I use for the interpretation is “Da Funk”By Daft Punk

Electronic & technomusic are musicthat is not 100% constructed byinstrument, combine with autotunesand other technology, creates a veryuniques sound.

Sound waves is representation of sound in a screen or computer.

Waves type:0:00-1:50

1:57-2:28

2:50-3:25

3:25- 5:01 (mix)

DANCING CUBE

Dancing = movement of body

Objective: create a wall from the word “dancing cube”

A wall needs to stand or balance

I choose ballet to incorporate in this experimentation, because of the balance that it has in the dance. The balance point is on the center.

Eventhough the hands and legs a moving, the balance remains the same by body control.

Explode the dynamic line, thethe dynamicness of the body

can be seen clearly.

Axis of reference

Page 9: Aesthetic Porfolio

stacking a cluster of cube alone the lines, create a dynamic eect

the dynamicness of “dancing cube” wall can be seen in every angle

LAYERS: CONNECTION IN DIFFERENCES

Simple patternbut use different technique to findthe connection.

Negative effect Scaling

If the normal & thenegative pictures are layered. The space are filled and connected as one black plane. What about the

vertical connection?

Page 11: Aesthetic Porfolio

pattern A: extruded

pattern B: extruded

Inter-lock by negative& positive effect

LAYERS CONT. : SOLID ANF FLEXIBLE

solid material:cardboards.

Flexible material:plastic sheet

insert the flexible sheet.

stack solid to get space

where the patterns meet

Relationship between space and people in the space

DANCING LINEIn a splines, consist of manyconnected vertex

However, to create dynamic of movement( dancing) in a static element is a illusion

SO

The different of displacement of vertexcreate the effect of dynamicness, from simple static shape.

Cluster of Small illusion create a bigger illusion.

Page 15: Aesthetic Porfolio

Insert, the created line in a “line” system arrangement.

How about line to create dynamic lines?

Same measurement of lines, in dynamic form.

Shrink to make it fit the line proportion

BREAK DOWN THE LINE ACCORDING TO THE VERTEX. AND ALING IT ON STRAIGHT LINE.

Page 16: Aesthetic Porfolio

Straight/ static line of reference

but the straight line created a dynamic movement from the displacemented vertex

WHAT ABOUT A LINE IN 3D SPACE?

Project the line in 3d space

Page 17: Aesthetic Porfolio

Front elevation

The connected lines are from the same reference. The space is dynamic and parametric, but the frame is a static frame.
