Why should the average Oklahoman care about growing the aerospace industry in our state?

Our industry is one of the top drivers of the state’s economy. Aerospace employees invest, shop, and live in communities throughout the state. This tax credit significantly contributes to our industry’s ability to attract and retain the required technical skills our customers require.

What do you see on the horizon for the aerospace industry in Oklahoma?

Oklahoma is uniquely positioned to grow the aerospace sector of its economy. With the two largest maintenance, repair, and overhaul locations in the world (Tinker AFB and American Airlines), and a strong list of hundreds of suppliers to the industry, the future looks very positive. This is especially true since the industry in the state supports both the commercial and government aerospace markets.

In your words, what does it mean to you and your business to be a member of the State Chamber of Oklahoma?

The State Chamber of Oklahoma is the voice of business in the state capitol. Many of the key businesses in our industry have lobbyists; but can’t be in the capitol every day and follow every business-related issue as the State Chamber does. As a member, our voice is heard; our issues are advocated; and results are achieved.
