Applications are invited for the following position at the OTS Office-AHEAD Project of University of Peradeniya. The number of positions available is two (02).

Posts of Technical Assistant at OTS.

1. RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Director/OTS, Deputy Director (Procurement), Deputy Director (Finance) and the Senior Administrative Officer in overall implementation of operation activities of Result Area 1, 2 and 3

Assist the Senior Administrative Officer for timely preparing of physical, procurement and financial progress of Result Area 2 and 3

Assist the Deputy Director Procurement and Senior Administrative Officer in the procurement Activities pertaining to Results Area 1, 2 and 3 in the following areas:

i. In carrying out procurement of goods, equipment, services, works and consultancy services

ii. Preparation and updating of procurement plansiii. Maintaining records, assisting the conduction of procurement reviews and furnishing

reports as required under Result Area 1, 2 and 3.

Assist the Deputy Director (Finance) and the Senior Administrative Officer in the management of Financial activities, in the Results Area 1, 2 and 3.

Maintaining proper financial records for all operation expenses,i. Preparation of accurate and timely financial reports pertaining to Result Area 1,2 ,3

ii. Maintain a good rapport with personnel working in DOR/RIC/ICE/UBL cell and Grant Coordinators of the Result Area 1, 2 and 3

Maintain an efficient filing system for Result Area 1, 2 and 3 activities.

Any other duties assigned by the Director-OTS.

2. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

The required qualifications and experience are as follows:

Having passed G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six (06) subjects with 3 Credit Passes including

i) Sinhala Language / Tamil Languageii) English Language / English Literature

An acceptable qualification in computer applications of not less than six (06) months duration obtained from a recognized Institution.

One year experience in the use of computer applications such as MS Word/ Excel/Power Point and Office Works.

3. METHOD OF RECRUITMENT

This is a full-time position. Recruitment will be based on internal circulation of advertisement and an interview. Initially the Contract Appointment shall be for a period of 12 months, and may be renewed based on performance during the operation period.

4. REMUNERATION:

A monthly payment of LKR 25,000 (plus Rs. 7,800 Cost of Living allowance) and applicable EPF and ETF will be paid.

Payments will be made based on approval by the OTS Director. Payments will be made by the university upon submission of the monthly progress

report and reimbursed by the OMST.

5. CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT

Each of the two selected persons will become a contributor to the Employees Provident Fund and the Employees Trust Fund. An 8% of the monthly earnings will have to be contributed to the EPF monthly by the employee and in turn the employer will contribute a sum equal to 12% and 3% of the monthly earnings of the employee to the EPF & ETF respectively.

The total amount contributed will be refunded to the employee at any time once his/her services are ceased.

Interested candidates have to submit their curriculum vitae along with copies of their Birth Certificate, Educational Certificates, and any other relevant certificates to reach the Director, OTS Office, AHEAD Project, University of Peradeniya, on or before 10/07/2019. Applications received after the closing date will not be considered.
