A BRIEF HISTORY

Fest was launched in 2002 to provide a free and independent Festival review guide. Since then we have established a formidable journalistic reputation,

culminating in 2013 when the magazine won a clean sweep at the Allen Wright Awards for Fringe Journalism.

Every year, 1.5 million visitors spend £200 million at the Edinburgh Festival. As the youngest, biggest and most

exciting publication, fest offers unique access to the affluent, 18–35 culture consumers that dominate this market.

We have also assembled a number of successful partnerships at the Fringe, including a long-standing association with Amnesty International. Together we produce the much-loved comics vs. critics football match—a gruelling showdown of epic proportions —as well as jointly supporting the Freedom of Expression Award. This year we are also working with The Princes Trust to launch The Critics Academy – a social enterprise that will provide a professional pathway into arts journalism for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
