a Phin Village - Te Red Dao villagers,as like other villagers, originate romChina and they are currently living as

armers in Sapa. Part o their daily routineis also walking around the village to offertourists/visitors their beautiul handcrafed

(mostly embroidered) souvenirs/accessoriesor an affordable price o about USD$ 3-20.

Our photo with the riendly Red Dao woman.Even afer the photo, I pretended to walkaway with her basket, and there was not asign o deensiveness or anger rom her. Shesmiled and seemed to know that we were justhaving un. By the way, that basket weighsat least 5 kg and is not very comortable tocarry or the whole day under the scorchinghot sun! When we asked her about her age,she could not answer us because she simplydoes not know how many years she had lived.Tese villagers have been living most, i notall, o their lives in arming. Each day seemedto be just another day; they do not keep tracko the numerous seasons or years that havepassed, rom one generation to the next.Tis is what we call a simple and carereelie, where the only challenges or them seemto be growing good crops and maintainingthe tourism in Sapa. And dont orget to givethem some tips or buy their souvenirs aferthe photos.

In the busyness o lie, dont orget to stop andtake a deep breath othe resh air aroundyou. Te best time totake a walk around thevillage o a Phin is

the early morning orevening (beore the sunsets), where it will bemuch cooler and com-ortable to walk in thevast open land. Tere isno shade at all, exceptyour hat or umbrellaand some clouds above.Tis is summer or aPhin. Oh and dontorget to bring your

materials i you lovedrawing/painting be-cause this is definitelyone o the scenery youdont wanna miss.

Cat Cat Wateralls - Tese wa-teralls took us many hundredso steps to reach. Going down

to the wateralls was not an easy taskor the weak-hearted because thesteps were made o stones and someparts are slippery and wet. Tere alsowasnt any railing to hold onto whilegoing downwards so we have to do itwith extra caution. Upon reaching thewateralls, although it wasnt exactly

breathtaking, it was still a good eelingbecause o the cool mist you get nearthe alls. Listening to the splashingwaters and enjoying the cool breezerom the wateralls was also quitetherapeutic or me.

that look so glorious underthe sun. Tis was taken romthe drive down the hills whileleaving the village. It will bebest to rent a motorcycle orthis ride as you can enjoy thescenery and go at the speedyou like. Tere is almost noother vehicle around and itis very sae to travel around

the village without the worryo heavy traffic or bus loadso tourists obstructing thebeautiul views o these largepadi fields.

    Ha Long Bay

Halong Bay isdefinitely oneo the most

picturesque places inVietnam. Tis is whereyou can find lots olimestone karsts and islesat almost every cornerthat the cruise goes. Tisis surely or nature loversor photographers wholove the combination othe sun, sea and largestones/isles around. Tewaters are so calm thatyou barely eel the cruise

moving through the isles. Also, the several cruisesadd a touch o livelinessto the bay; youre in or aphotography treat whenthese cruises hoist theirsails like the traditionaljunk sail boats.

Most cruises bring their tourists to one o the islets with a good lookout point o Halong Bay. Afer a good climb (maybeabout 100+ steps) up to the lookout point, tourists would find this beach rewarding or a swim to escape rom the heat, especially in summer. Te beach isnt as beautiul as those white sandy beaches in Boracay or Maldives, but it is quite a

treat or you and your riends because there really isnt many other tourists around and it eels exclusive.

oang Hai Junk Boat cruise which we had spent 2D1N in. Teboat was constantly cruising at a very comortable speed that isperect or those with motion or sea sickness. Te only time it

docked itsel was during the night when it was time or dinner with thebeautiul sunset. Ten it was time to chill at the sun deck and we wereamazed by the cloudless night sky filled with infinite number o stars.

    S

urprising cave - Steppinginto this cave, we elt in-stantly cooler as i there was

air-conditioning! But accordingto our guide, it was because othe limestones that the cave has amuch lower temperature than itis outside. Most o the limestonesare dead because o the highertemperature it is today comparedto hundreds o years ago. Howev-er, you can still see stalactites andstalagmites, and some beautiulormations on the ceiling o thecave that were probably ormedby the waves when this caveused to be underwater. Walkingthrough the cave was an easy eatbecause there really isnt muchsteps within the cave, most o theclimb was done when we weremaking our way rom the boat tothe cave. Dont orget to stop or amagical photograph like this withyour loved one, taken with thenatural sunlight shining into thecave. ;) Also, there is a lookoutjust outside the cave, where you

can also take beautiul photoso the cruises docked outsideamong the isles.

Sapa had been a good experience or us. Te view rom the restaurant o our hotel is great, overlooking the padi fields aar andwe could take some beautiul time-lapse photos o that place. Te temperature in Sapa can vary quite drastically, rom as highas 35C in the day to 24C at night. It gets more chilly at night i it is windy. We had also went up to the lookout point o Sapa, I

orgot the name o the garden. However, it was a beautiul garden filled with pretty daisies and other types o flowers! We were tootired to climb the countless steps to reach the ultimate peak o that hill though. Yet it was good enough or us to look at Sapa townand the hills surrounding us.

Tis is the view we enjoyevery morning overbreakast al resco styledat the roo garden o

Sunny Hotel in Sapa. Teormation o og over thenight covers the valley ina soothing ashion. Teawesome view coupledwith resh air causes timeto come to a stand still.

am Coc village - We take a ride on one o theselittle boats, rowed by hands (or some legs) o thelocal villagers. Tis is surely one o the develop-

ing tourist spots, because there are still some develop-ments going on in the vicinity. During summer, dontorget to bring a hat or umbrella along with lots osunblock to shield yoursel rom the harmul UV rays!
