SGS Technology - MMI® Soil Geochemistry

SGS has a soil geochemistry technology to help you reduce your exploration costs.

MMI has a proven track record in a number of regolith and geological settings throughout Africa.

MMI soil geochemistry is based on a weak extraction of the soils to target the unbound ions only.

By extracting the unbound ions only we access the very recently arrived ions at surface and not those that may have been transported away from the source.

16

WEAK EXTRACTIONS

17

Metal ions are mobile and migrate to surface Mineralization

As the ore body oxidizes metals are mobilized eg CuS reduces to Cu++ in the presence of oxygen

18

Over time at surface the ions bind to soil particles

19

Metal bound to soil particles is subject to transport away from source

20

Lefa Gold Project, Guinea 3 discoveries in 2001

(Folokadi, Banko, Pharmacie)

Lateritic Regolith overlying 70M saprolite and clays

Au in meta sedimentary rocks

Using MMI eliminated RAB stage of exploration followed by drill testing the MMI anomalies
