Malta University Language School is a residential school located at the
University Residence in Lija.
Malta University Residence operates a free bus service from the Residence to
University.
It is situated within walking distance from the town centre of Lija and main
public transport routes and is well positioned for accessing major shopping
centres, historical sites and beautiful beaches.
Amenities include a minimarket, swimming pool, tennis court, running track,
cafeteria and a study room.

Living with a host family provides a unique opportunity to experience Maltese culture,
participate in customs and traditions, and practice your English.
Students may choose whether they would like to live in a single or a shared room, as
well as whether to opt for a bed and breakfast, half-board or full-board basis.
All families are personally checked by our professional staff and must meet strict
criteria before being included in our database. These families are within walking
distance or a short bus ride away from Malta University Language School.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Applicants are required to forward a 25% deposit of the total amount due, in order for the booking to be confirmed. Unless the deposit is received within 14 days of the booking, the services requested cannot be guaranteed. This deposit will be deducted from the total amount due upon final payment being made. Applicants are required to effect full and final payment of the amount due prior to the beginning of the course and the taking up of accommodation with the Malta University Language School (MULS).
2. Applicants will only be eligible for long-term prices and discounts if the total amount due is fully paid in advance.
3. Applicants are required to be at least 18 years of age. Parents or legal guardians are required to apply on behalf of their teenager, if such children are between 13 and 17 years of age and they are to sign a separate agreement for under-agestudents in the event that these follow a Summer Teen Programme.
4. Applicants requiring assistance with their student visa must effect full payment of the total amount due prior to the Letter of Acceptance being issued by MULS. MULS shall charge a non-refundable fee of €50 for a Letter of Acceptance to be issued. Should applicants subsequently not be granted a student visa, they shall be obliged to inform MULS of their inability to travel to Malta at least 30 days prior to the start date of the course and to present MULS with the official visa refusal letter. In such event, MULS shall withhold 10% percent of the total amount paid by the student. In addition to the administration fee, MULS shall withhold a further 20% of accommodation fees and 10% of tuition fees paid by the student in the event that the student informs the MULS of the student visa refusal only within the 30 day period prior to the start date of the course. MULS shall refund the applicant the remaining amount paid, which refund will only be made upon presentation of an official student visa refusal letter.
5. MULS shall not affect any refund to no-show students.
6. MULS reserves the right to alter the service provided by it without prior notification, on condition that the service so provided by it is of the same standard or classification as that originally applied for.
7. While MULS shall make every effort is to deliver all lessons in the morning, MULS shall at times schedule lessons to take place in the afternoon.
8. The services provided by MULS are subject to availability. Applicants are therefore urged to book early.
9. Applicants are obliged to inform MULS should they suffer from any medical, physical or psychological condition which might affect their stay or that of other students. MULS shall not be held responsible for the students’ safety, even when informed of any such existing condition.
10. While excluding MULS liablilty in any manner whatsoever, MULS reserves the right to dismiss any applicant or student from any service applied for, if in the opinion of MULS, through the behaviour of such persons, the health and safety or the comfort of other applicants or students is, or is likely to be, in any manner impaired or endangered. The same dimissal will take place if such persons, by their acts or ommissions, in any manner bring into disrepute the name of MULS.
11. Fees and charges paid are not refundable. No refund shall be made for any part of the service not utilised. Should any applicants or students require a re-scheduling of their lessons, they shall inform MULS at least 5 working days in advance, failing which they shall be charged in full for the lessons which cannot be re-scheduled.
12. An additional €25 adminitration fee will be paid to MULS should any students request a change in course.

13. Lessons shall not take place on Public Holidays, provided that an activity will be organised on the day in order to
replace such tuition. The following days are Public Holidays in Malta:

31 March (Freedom Day) 18 April (Good Friday) 1 May (Workers’ Day) 7 June (Sette Giugno)

8 September (Feast of Our Lady of Victories) 21 September (Independence Day)
8 December (Feast of the Immaculate Conception) 13 December (Republic Day)
14. The school shall be closed for a period of two weeks commencing the Christmas week and the following week.
15. While MULS shall make every effort to help and support students throughout their stay in Malta, MULS does not
accept responsibility for any injury, loss or damage during students’ stay in Malta.
16. EU member nationals – It is strongly suggested that the applicant is in possession of an insurance policy that covers civil liability and third party liability as well as a health insurance cover and the applicant should be in possession of a valid European Health Insurance Card.
17. Non-EU member nationals - It is strongly suggested that the applicant is in possession of an insurance policy that covers civil liability and third party liability as well as a health insurance cover.
18. The applicant agrees not to hold MULS in any manner responsible for any loss, damages or other costs arising from their own negligence or misbehaviour (or that of their children, where persons apply on behalf of their children who are below 18 years of age).
19. In the event that only one applicant applies for a particular course, MULS shall automatically apply the “Reduced Hours Procedure” explained below. Alternatively, the student would have the option of taking the full number of sessions against the payment of a “Supplement” as indicated below.
