WEBSITE www.bit.ly/utpahep The High School Equivalency Program (HEP) assists migrant workers, persons working in agriculturally-related activities, and their eligible family members earn a GED. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS To enroll a student must:

• Be at least 17 yrs of age (16 years with court order)

• Score an eighth grade-level or above on the HEP entrance exam

• Submit two forms of official identification (i.e., social security card, driver‘s license, etc.)

• Have spent or have a parent, spouse, or close family relative who has spent a minimum of 75 days during the past 24 months conducting migrant farm work, seasonal farm work, or other applicable agricultural activity

• Applicant should also demonstrate a willingness to study in preparation for passing the GED exam.

CLASSES Though the Literacy Project offers GED and English classes for free, students must buy their own books. Classes are offered through the quarter system, 4 quarters per year, 10 weeks per quarter (except summer quarter, which is 6 weeks). They accept a small group of students per class and will place stu-dents on a waiting list. Call for more information.
