Carolina degree in the liberal arts, sciences or pro-

fessional programs, but you'll learn in smaller class

AcademicsCollege is an investment of your talent, energy and financial

resources. It’s the time to discover your strengths, to develop as a person,

and to lay the foundation for your career.

Our professors have excellent credentials in their areas of scholarship.

They will challenge you, but they will also devote personal time to discuss

your progress and to offer advice and support. Need a little help with your

classes? Our tutoring and academic support services are available to you

as well. Your academic success is of paramount importance.

A great college education may begin with assignments and class work,

but it actually encompasses many learning opportunities. The rich history,

cultural heritage and coastal ecology of the Sea Islands combine with a rap-

idly growing economy to create an ideal learning environment at USCB.

Local organizations and businesses consistently generate undergraduate

research projects and internships in many fields.

What will you gain from your academic experience?

Let us connect you with a faculty member in your

area of study who will answer your questions.

Campus LifeFrom a student’s perspective . . . Living on campus: it’s a college thing!

Setting up your room freshman year – cooking with your roommates –

new neighbors turning into friends – going to the beach after class – late

night study sessions – coffee breaks at the cyber café – sunbathing in the

courtyard – using your own laundry machines in your apartment – play-

ing ultimate Frisbee in front of the library – care packages from home –

late night chats with roommates …that’s life in Palmetto Village, our on-

campus apartments.

From a parent’s perspective . . .

By living on campus, your student will budget time more effectively since

classes, the library, and faculty offices are just a short walk away. It’s

easier to participate in extracurricular activities and build friendships.

Research indicates that residential students are more successful in their

college careers and more likely to complete their degrees in a timely

manner. Palmetto Village offers the freedom of apartment living and the

safety of university security 24/7.
